Why comment then if you never beleive anything? Clearly we have recently bid and its been rejected.
To try to counter those who believe anything and everything they see on Twitter or in the Sunday papers round up for what it's worth. Agents plant false stories too. If I know one thing, I'm certain that King hasn't told anybody that he offered £7m for anyone. Jerry Yates...

Im beginining to think you even doubt signings when they are the official club website. Probably claim you need to see signed contracts and medical documents in case its a false story.

Afternoon chaps and chapesses. Hull fan here - thought I’d give you my thoughts on Charlie Hughes.

Hughes will undoubtedly go on to be a Premier League footballer, he is that good. He’s just been made our captain since Coyle got injured and is destined to be a leader moving forward.

His biggest attributes are hard to single out because he is a beast in the air, strong in the tackle and reads the game really well. Surprisingly though, I think his best attributes are his composure on the ball, followed by his great range of passing.

It would be a major surprise if we sold him (despite our predicament) because I believe he will go for £15million plus at the end of the season. I think he is better than Greaves and will end up at a top 6 club (perhaps not in his next move but a Premier League stepping stone).

Conspiracy theories could include it being leaked from your end to unsettle the player, but also don’t rule out it coming from our end - somewhat of a coincidence that on the day we need to justify our finances to the EFL a £10million-ish asset is revealed.

The result of our hearing should be known by the end of the week (if it’s not leaked before) and selling right now makes no sense.

Our new manager in an hour long radio interview in the last couple of days said he is a £20million player and is simply not for sale - that was after the Sheff Utd interest. Selles obviously knows his worth but I honestly expect us to cash in next season.

I don't think we're the type of club to unsettle a player...can't recall us doing so before but could be wrong.

It could be just genuine interest but it would have made more sense for you to have made a move immediately after our fee restriction and not after we sold 2 centre backs to Blackburn and Middlesbrough.

It’s one thing the manager saying it though isn’t it.

Rumours you would accept anything over 10.

When Lampard comes knocking its a different kind of knock. We'll give you £7.5m.

We did it with Grimes a week or so before our match with Swansea.
…although there is no chance the manager doesn’t pick him for Saturday. I also don’t think the owner will go against his new manager who hasn’t even managed his first game yet.

Jakirovic could have walked after probably been told he’d have a war chest only to find out we could only wheel and deal in free transfers.

Selling his best player a couple of days before his first game would be madness.

If we signed him would you tell us to look after him?

I also wouldn’t say the fan base is in meltdown. Perhaps we would if Hughes was sold.

Unbelievably we are very content with our transfer window (we have suggested keeping the fee restriction to make us work smarter!).

Ajayi from West Brom has been quality in pre-season and we don’t recognise the players he has turned Giles and Drameh into. With the expected arrivals of McBurnie and Gelhardt, there’s not a chance we will be troubling the bottom 3.

Selling your best players for the right money, even at inconvenient times, happens all the time at this level. We'd do it with any of ours too if the right offer came in.

That's exactly how football works up and down the leagues. Every player has a price and it doesn't matter what day of the week that price is met. Or whether Mr Chairman says, he's not for sale. If we meet the price, he signs for us.

No meltdowns from our fanbase either….honest

Doyle and Hughes I’ve heard.

We’ll have the best CB pairing for passing in the Championship. Just don’t play a ball over the top of them and we’ll be fine.
3-5-2 would suit those 2, with a quick defender in the middle.
we have nippy wingbacks, and we are more of a threat playing 2 up top. 👍

Unfortunately there's little chance of leaving EMC and Sakamoto out, so can't see it ever happening.

You say that, but the general consensus is that those 4 aren't really good enough to take us to the next level.

Could equally be a gamble to spend £2-4m on yet another CB no more likely to step above those 4.
To make a CB our club record signing, he’d need to be the real deal and a few steps up from our current duo. Which he might well be tbf, I’m just still a little stunned at the amount we apparently bid for Rushworth and are now linked with here.

It's been reported we're considering going back in with an improved offer, if 20 million was the case we wouldn't even bother, he maybe a 20 million player in the future but not now, he's highly rated and you know him better then me but he was in a relegation battle last year and was at Wigan I believe the year before that, so that figure to me is way off.

Doug, Frank and the team see potential in this lad so I trust in what their doing.
