Yeah I get that worry. He’s quick though and good with his ball to feet.

Pitched Ben Davies from Rangers as another option but that would be in essence lost funds

Suppose if Grimes is essentially the third CB it alleviates that a bit too. Fuck it I’m in

I don't think BTA is capable of the performances Simms put in against Wolves and Man Utd, but that just makes Simms even more frustrating tbh. He had his moments first season, last season he was fucking hopeless.
He had one or two decent games last season. Luton at home he was decent. He was also decent as part of two up front alongside BTA.

Hope this is us

After spending the last four years on loan, Callum Doyle is available on a permanent deal this summer. The 21-year-old has two years left on his deal, but he and City have agreed that it is now time for him to find a place to settle with no route to the first team.

He has played more than 100 games in the second tier at Sunderland, Coventry City, Leicester City and Norwich City. City will be looking for up to £10m after the big sales of fellow centre-backs Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Shea Charles to Southampton in recent years.

Bundesliga club Hoffenheim had a bid rejected earlier in the window, and it could now be that a top-end Championship side takes Doyle on loan again with an option or obligation to buy.

Yes, several. For instance, Boro at home off the bench - that ball is coming straight back at us if Simms was still on, as it had been the majority of that second half.

Please don’t get me wrong, I’m not calling for BTA to be starting up front for us. But as a backup, he’s proven he can make an impact of the bench.

It was once in a game that was almost like a cup game given the consequences of losing for Middlesbrough. He's not made a bit of difference in any other game he has came on in.

List the several please.
Blackburn at home - second goal to Haji came from BTA pressing. Simms would never. The goal he scored there’s absolute no chance Simms finishes that chance.

Swansea away - again no chance he hits the target let alone scores.

Bristol City at home - again please watch this and tell me Simms could do that.

Boro at home - as mentioned.

In addition to the ‘stats’ re his goals, he actually offers work rate, will press etc. Offers so much more.

HAHAHA One of his benefits is that he presses. Incredible! We may as well get Lassie up front then.

I meant away
You may have, but the point still stands. Simms is terrible, BTA not great but better.

As a backup, who would you rather come off the bench? It’s good to see FL follows the majority’s way of thinking as the PO’s was a clear indication of where Simms is in the pecking order.

RIddle me this then Sherlock. How many goals did BTA get last year, how many did Simms get?
