Nothing really, other than what i've posted previously. He's been pretty spot on so far with what he's told me. LB in, told me early on there was talks with 2 right sided players and a keeper, since then we've had KKH and now Rushworth. Waiting to see if anything materialises with the RW.
He'd told me they were concentrating on building on what they had, rather than a massive overhaul, seems to be that way at the moment. Last we spoke, he said they'd been trying to organise some outward loans, maybe we are waiting for things to fall into place there.
I'll see him next week but we may have done some more business by then.
Seems he was right when told there is money there and Lampard would be backed, we tried to sign the keeper on a permanent. Interested to see where that money may be repurposed.
Hopefully we see a couple more decent additions.
Hopefully as you say see if the RW comes in, sounds all positive tbh

Yeah, whoever their targets were, seems as though contact was made pretty early on in the window with them all. So i'm sure there will be lots happening behind the scenes. Can only help matters that Gyokeres deal is over the line now too.

Cheers for the update

any news on outgoings?

No, I think you'll find we are going to sign at least six or seven players as stated by many on here

I give every single player a clean slate when they sign for us as how they perform for us is the only thing that matters to me. Can't say I'd be enthusiastic about Bamford though, not sure he'd even be much better than what we have there already and everyone knows what I think of our current strikers.

Bamford would be such a dull signing

His whole career is defined by 2 or 3 good seasons, a regular season for Bamford outside of that is pretty poor. Simms will end up the same, but without that purple patch of a prem season that Bamford had of course.

I think it’s obvious the club is waiting for things to develop. And things do develop. A couple may go and with the Vik money in this coming week that develops something again.

We aren’t desperate. if things stay the exact same we have a squad to compete. I still believe in simms and BTA for all the stick they get on here. We are by far better off sticking with them and developing them and turning them in to big assets than ditching them for peanuts and risking 5m on a relative unknown. And back we go around again.

Do you remember the game against Sunderland? Only a natural, clinical striker would put a performance in like that.

He’s very good as a striker at times, and I’m not one wishing him to leave the club at all, I just think he’s a more natural left winger than a sole striker. Maybe as two up top alongside another striker (instead of a LW, ST, RW front 3) he might be better?

It's a silly argument that's been banging on too long tbh. He's a better central striker than our others but most on here accept he's been better for us on the left.
Fact is if we were to get a competent striker in, Wright would have a fight on his hands to get in the team in either position. I'd love him to be around to fight for that but the rumour he wants out doesn't entirely surprise me.

Yeah I agree, he’s our best striker but personally I think he’s better on the left, it just so happens we have a bunch of shit strikers so that means Wright has to play through the middle atm. If we got a quality striker then we’d have decent options on the left and centrally which would help us a hell of a lot dealing with injuries throughout the season. Would be brilliant to get to 65 mins and be able to bring EMC on to terrorise tired defences 😍

I think we have a weird obsession with experience.

KKH close to 100 appearances at this level. 22. Experienced.

Callum Doyle, over 100, 21. Experienced.

You don’t have to be 30 to be experienced

100 appearances is not experienced in the grand scheme of things.

Not long till the first game of the season. 2 weeks today in fact.

What I would like to see as a minimum is one more classy CB, RW to compete with Tatsu and a dynamic striker.

Also there will have to be some outgoings but we’re 3 decent players from having a great squad.
Callum Doyle
Tyrique George
Marc Guiu
