Transfer Rumour- Daniel Pereria (7 Viewers)

Like I said in the other thread, I think some of you are missing what is in front of you here.

If this is going to happen (and I use this lightly as we know the football scouting world is full of nonsense), how are we going to have a team with Grimes, Sheaf and Pereira in? Seems massively overkill to me.
I don't think it's a massive problem to be honest. Josh Eccles played 45 games last season, Jamie Allen played 28. There are plenty of minutes to go around, particularly as it's likely Sheaf will miss time at some point.

I actually think they could all play together but then you lose Rudoni, or you have to stick him out wide.

Sheaf and Torp will probably have extended periods on the sidelines.

I'm just glad it seems that Lampard has little say in our transfer business.

To be fair it isn’t a Lampard signing and is a Dean Austin signing as he wanted him for MR originally years ago.

Lampard does seem to be doing wonders with the CM’s though (unsurprisingly…..)
I was about to say the same as we were apparently after him 2 years ago, way before Frank's tenure

It seems massively like a squad that is adaptable to the opposition we’re facing. This kind of strength in depth is exactly what has cost us in previous seasons.
This is only a good thing and im very excited by it

Don't worry the orange clown will probably send Ice to deport him regardless of his Green Card.

Doug and Frank just turn up in masks and bundle him into the van and onto a plane to BHX.

Why is everyone now worried about too many players fighting for similar positions? We haven’t had this for decades. It can only be good and will create healthy competition rather than players thinking that they are nailed on for every game. Lampard will not want complacency and if we get injuries, he has reliable players to call upon.

It would be a Lampard signing… he will always have the final say on any signing.

Its like on Football Manager when a scouts gives you a long list of duds and you pick out the gems, it wasn’t ’head scout X’ who made the signing! They identify talent and analytics people and manager will make an ‘informed’ decision.

It’s not so much that I think but that we need players in other positions first. Plus, we didn’t think we really had any money left.

Literally this.

I think he will play right back so Milan can play in an attacking position so KKH can play left back so Brau can play left forward.

I don't think anyone is worried about it. Just setting the expectation that some players might be off.

Midfield 5 of Grimes, Sheaf, Pereira, Rudoni and Torp is incredibly strong.

Different options to adapt to the opposition or style of play we want to impose each game, and strength in depth meaning we don’t see a marked drop in performance or style as soon as a starter gets injured.

I don’t much about Pereira, but the data indicates it’s an exciting signing.

Very strong as you say, but I expect not realistic. They aren't all going to play together, and they aren't all going to be happy on the bench either. If Pereira comes in, who are you picking to start out of those?

They are competitive professionals, you play well you start. Why all the concern about depth, i simply don't understand. If they are not happy and knock FL door, i hope he would tell them he wasn't happy hence why they are not starting. Competition is healthy what do want partiapatition medals for signing a contract, mercy rule if we score 5, promising the parent the son gets gaunteed minutes.

This forum has gone insane, i want as many good quality players we can get.. Or i suppose we are happy with Pato and Rod on the bench..Do me a favour, time to forget sentiment or worry for a players feelings, they are very well looked after. They know and welcome competition to drove standards and so should the coaches, managers and fans.

FL will pick the side he thinks will win any particular game. He will find different combinations, with a deep squad you rotate, but competition drives standard.

But for Hull id go with Sheaf, Grimes and Rudoni with the squad now. Torp and Andrews on the bench Allen and Eccles in the stand. Does that answer a hypothetical question
