In Lampard’s tenure at both Everton and Derby, he brought in a number of loan signings. You would assume that he’s still got contacts and reasonable pull… I’m not saying he’s going to bring in Sterling but he must have players he could bring in on loan. Sheff Utd used their loans to the max last year, brought in some good talent.

Wilson is a capable no 2 in the championship for next season until Dovin is back. The club will bring a no1 in before the season starts on a season loan or a short term contract.

It really makes no sense to try to make a no 1 out of Collins, Bell or Wilson they are simply not up to the task. Collins having no minutes is a big indicator they are trying to move him on.
I think Collins unsuccessful run in the side after Dovins injury sealed his fate . He's a very good keeper with his feet , he just lacks the mentality and confidence to be a good all round keeper

Collins wage is probably the reason he isn't already gone. Doug doesn't seem to like paying up contracts so unless we get an offer we are stuck with him. I just hope that doesn't effect the ability to bring in a proper no 1 until Dovin is back

A club can only pay up a contract with the agreement of the player. Unless a player has another club lined up, there's not much incentive for them to accept it.

This is a crazy assumption to me - if he wanted to duck out of the game entirely then he could do it very easily, plenty of players do. Say what you will about his string of errors, I don’t think you ever could accuse Collins of hiding.
I didn't accuse him of hiding. I just said he strikes me as someone who no longer enjoys playing football.
There have been footballers before who admitted after retiring that they got no enjoyment out of it but had no idea what else to do with their lives.

Based on what? Looking upset after he makes a mistake?

People often refer to the Brentford or Brighton model as being the bar to hit, but the one I'd prefer is Fulham. Nothing extravagant, not relying on eye watering fees outgoing or incoming, just sustainable incremental progress. Granted their owner is minted.
Were never going to be like Brentford or Brighton unless we get an owner willing to put 100s of millions into the club.

Who knows. Maybe just misinterpreted what Robins had said in the interview.

It absolutely is. It’s been poor reading comprehension from day one.

It still annoys me when people babble on about this.

Tony Bloom and Matthew Benham were boyhood fans of the respective clubs they now own.

The dynamic couldn't be more different and both have injected a massive amount of capital into their clubs without any real intention of a return, well certainly in the early days.

Benham was paying off club debt before he was even in an official capacity at the club. Brighton wouldn't have their stadium without Bloom.

I think some people get confused between business model and ownership.

We lost 2-0 against a portugese second division team too.

Its clear that we need a striker
It’s clear that the team is shipping goals for fun and has a choice of Coco vs Kiki the Clown as far as goalkeepers go. But maybe if we just kept investing in strikers then we’d have scored six goals yesterday and it’d be fine ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also, it’s pre-season etc etc
