I agree. The result of a friendly doesn't mean a lot.

The problem is we know we have a GK crisis. We just played against a side that I don't have a clue what league they play in with most of our best players and they put 5 in against us. I was hoping to get a GK confidence boost in these games. All it has done is add to the worry.

I hope these games go the same way. Then we know we would end up bringing in a more capable GK before the start of the season.
That was the kids playing.

It's only the first game and it was clear from club statements the intention was to 'get 45mins game time' into players.

City fielded 11 different players in each half.

Yeah and three of them were left backs. He could easily have played if he was anywhere near.

Not exactly nothing. We’ve seen about 40 minutes of him across a possible 4000+ minutes. I predict this rate will carry on or increase insignificantly next season. It’s a waste of a squad place.
Kind of proving exactly the point i was making.

He came from a different country and a very sub par league, he clearly has raw ability and we have invested in his future (with very little outlay) that he could be something in the future.

His salary will reflect his lack of first team action and from the outset, when he was signed, it was repeatedly stated he has enormous potential but will not be first team ready that season.

This is his second year with us, he got a fairly serious injury in pre season last year that hampered his progress in getting “english football fit” give him a full pre season and we’ll see.

Whether you, with your 40minutes to base an opinion on, think he’s a waste of a squad place or not is completely fucking insignificant because our last manager and this manager, who see him every day in training, disagree.

Suppose all we can do is wait and see. I know what my money is on.

Same with Bassette.
