Such a stupid tantrum over a relatively meaningless event .
Mind you if you and your puppet master have an agenda against the new owner then I suppose it is understandable

so you didn’t explain what part was untrue

please tell me

wouldn’t disagree but what’s the reason?

because the club under robins and Dave boddy grew and the fans made a massive part of that along with the club

some fans saved the club

like I said, short memories on here

king won the lottery with what he inherited (down to Hamer and Vik sales) and joining in when the team made the playoff final

but like starmer has made many u turns and mistakes and making more at the min
Every pre-season with the same negativity. So so boring.

I remember the year our works held the Christmas party in January because they couldn't get the booking sorted in a busy year end. Nobody wanted it, complete waste of time.

Awards should have happened before, but right call now to cancel.

What's the issue here?

"The Club intends to hold an End of Season event again at the conclusion of the 2025/26 season, and will communicate regarding this once a date has been established for this to take place."

Add to this the events they partake in between the supporters groups, players and chairman. The guy held a public forum broadcast on radio when we sacked Robins...what other club does that?

Is this not as simple as we had an extended season, lost in the playoffs so they probably weren't in the mood and went off on holidays. Now they're back and it just seems a bit impractical to hold while prepping for the season? Bit shit for some fans looking forward to it, but not the end of the world is it?

Who the fuck wanted to go to an awards night the way the season ended anyway, yet alone the players who were probably beside themselves after the Sunderland game

I’ve enjoyed a few weeks shut off from CCFC, ready for it back now though

Right thing to do and makes sense. Re taking away the closeness away with the fans… with all the great content coming out on social media/ YouTube I actually think it’s probably more open these days vs 10 years ago maybe it’s just me. I love seeing the interactions from the lads in training, BTA trying to talk Spanish to Brau and Brau not understanding. I think you get a closer sense to how they are as a team vs a piss up that nobody wants to be at.

Would expect the players and Frank were all pretty pissed off after the play offs and just wanted to get away. A valiant effort after a poor start last season, but let's hope we've something to really celebrate come the end of 25/26!

Ooh the iTK is unhappy that his mates privileges have been removed ….

less than 1% of Cov fans attend the end of season awards and fewer still the pre season tour … to suggest this somehow breaks the link between fans and the club is nonsense.

Most sensible fans don’t care about either they care about whether the club is ran sustainably and whether we are making progress on the pitch.

No one in their right mind harks back to the days when Sisu owned us and a few small business helped keep the wolf from the door.

it’s more transparency. if the club had no intention they should have said. again it’s the fans being lied to

similar to the Portugal week

I was told back in may it was booked. they didn’t mention anything. poor form imo

When was it booked for ? If it was after the last league game as usual it was sensible to cancel with a playoff game coming up.
It’s only because you have some insider info that you are bothered - it’s not like they had tickets on sale and then cancelled.

It’s not fair, I wanted a selfie with lamps and the lads whilst out in Portugal on pre season.

King should be prioritising the fans for Pre season over the players getting ready for the new season. Left a week spare annual leave to attend.

I’m on hunger strike til they announce where abouts in Portugal they are…

Why on earth should the club tell fans in good time their pre season plans? Mental. They want a private trip, fair enough.

Like with lack of rumours, it was embarrassing at times the amount of information getting out (I know we all lap it up) but the club have actively made point of shutting it down - again, fair play. We have no right to anything.

Awards evening, after that sunderland game, genuinely, who cared about football for a few weeks - zero point and no point now. Focus on whats ahead.

The club, fans, operation everything is the best it's been in years. Yes success helps. But to suggest the connection between club and fans is dwindling is frankly bull shit.

I don't get the point in fans knowing the plans for a training camp, where we are playing no games in front of a crowd. Are they going to go and camp outside the front of the training ground fence?

That is fair enough but on a wider level across all industries I think it becomes an issue.

Who gives a f*ck? If we've got a set of players and a management team who aren't happy with a playoff exit and just wanna get the f*ck on with business, I'm into that.

Someone needs to tell the club that we don't have enough friendlies, though. Oversight from the iPad crew. When we had loads we always started really well... hang on.

Idiots. That's who.

Idiots.

Bit harsh.
If people have been going for years and have really enjoyed them why shouldnt they be miffed that there's not one this year?

I've never been to one and have no intention of doing so, so couldn't care less, but if it's become part of someone's Sky Blue calendar then they have every right to express their disappointment.

Which should sound like “ what a shame I really enjoy them glad they are coming back next year“ not “be careful what you wish for … the owners are breaking the connection with the fans” style bullshit.

That's fair enough, but I was referring to a wider range of comments than the ones of that nature on this forum.
As I say, it makes no odds to me personally.

No - it's the end of the season 😆

been going on for years way before robins

first one I attended was 2008 at the Ricoh

poor from the club but not surprised

club now don’t care about fans. The bond the club grew with the players and fans is slowing disappearing and we are ending up like the big clubs who hold the fans in so little account
Waste of fooking time and money if to ask me. Have an awards ceremony when we’ve actually won something

Because it's a minor disappointment at most, not something worth having a hissy fit over. It's just people having a sense of entitlement.

It's hardly surprising that there wasn't one after the manner the season ended.

The play off final season there was a couple cretins who got the DJ to play Sweet Caroline and loudly sang "Sweet Coventry" into the mike. It think it was so horrific it is why Fanky missed that pen and Vik and Hamer left.

“The fans” being all 12 of you that go to the awards night every year?

They’re a bit pointless in general for teams aiming for promotion tbh.

If you get promoted the celebration happens at another time. If you just miss out you generally want to forget about the season and go on holiday.

I’m guessing the only people getting upset about no awards night are the fan boys who crave selfies with the players so they can send them to their mates making out that Rudoni / Wright / MVE etc etc is their new best mate!
