In terms of revenue on matchdays, I am probably one of many who doesn't spend anything. People will have various reasons for this including cost, having enough time, not being willing to queue, not like the offer etc. I think this is an area Doug and the retail staff could look at - what different food and drink options would people buy like decent coffee, subs, street food? How could they sell to cut down on queues - wandering beer sellers etc. What might people be tempted to buy in a pop up shop - hats, pin badges etc. Could you have some seating somewhere for those who can't stand to eat and drink - nothing fancy, just those bus stop style or drop down seats attached to the walls.

I spend nothing in the ground for two reasons. The main reason is the queues in the West Stand are insane. There's one small, exceptionally slow, kiosk. If you head towards the North Stand you end up at a family zone kiosk which is chaos and only sells pop n crisps.

But even then if you're prepared to miss the end of the first half and start of the second half to queue you're faced with an offering that looks like its from the 1970s but at insanely expensive prices. I can accept stadium prices if you're getting something half decent but this really isn't it.

The queues are a joke. Especially now we are 30k every game almost. Saying that I’m one of those who doesn’t spend anything at the ground unless on it for the day and after the game and I might risk a flat pint at half time.

They need to have someone constantly pouring drinks from the taps, it’s madness.

just employ someone in the kiosk with the one job of filling pints up and placing them on a table.

Just get those dispensers that fill from the bottom upwards. It’s not even new technology any more.

I buy a few bottles of pop and coupek of bags of sweets before every game from the shop on the way up

My daughter never gets searched as shes 11 so she smuggles it all in for us

Way cheaper and don't piss about with the queues

I don't bother buying drinks anymore, had too many bottles of coke or water kicked over and lost the lot with having no lid!

Yep same. And even worse are the awkward apologies as the drink drips slowly down the stairs and pools around their feet.

Personally dont think the pre-match queues are that bad, if you know which bars to aim for. Don't bother with the concourse bars at HT.

Yeah, the only way to make it at half time is to go down at around 35 minutes, but then you'll miss 10 or so minutes of the match.

To be fair, I've not been to many grounds (or other entertainment venues) where it was easy or quick to get a pint at half time

Have done that a few times, but often I have got there and realised the lid is in the pocket of different jacket!

Alzheimer's is a bitch isn't it.

There's a sizeable group of us with several families, so we take it in turns each match to send someone down 5 mins early and head straight into the Ancedote at HT

If you tell them you’re diabetic you can bring your own food

Used to go to a pub by the river before matches at Twickenham. They had a Guinness dispenser which filled a 3x3 grid of glasses in one go (stopped for a few secs 1/2 way through the fill). Seems ideal for a busy bar.

I've been to the o2 and the Utilita Arena (NIA) this week and both had self service bars with pretty much zero queues.

They have the same for the Hollies Stand at Edgbaston.

We're light years behind on this stuff, plus a lot of other grounds have worked to improve what you can actually buy.

They'd make more money if they sorted this out.

It's a great idea, but any establishment serving Guinness in that manner should be demolished

There's a balck with shortish dreads who has worked their for ages and now seems to be one of the bar managers. If you find he is working it's usually quicker at half time as he gets them pulling beers before sale.

There is one small bar which sells Stella only just past the playzone thing and the only food is some weird onion bhaji roll. That is never very busy.

Been very tempted by a tin of Magners most games as we get to the CBS, this is usually after partaking in a few elsewhere in Cov as well. Don’t bother with food, normally the Spoons breakfast has filled me up for food.
I’ve come to the conclusion that my matchday diet is not the healthiest 😬
