In reflection I took it too far last night, so I'm going to stay off here for a bit, at least these areas. This topic is very sensitive to me as someone very close to me went through being abused and raped, and has had to grow up with that. This led to a spiral into drug addiction and all sorts of exhausting and heart-breaking situations. They also tried to take their life a few years back and were very nearly successful too. I almost lost them, for a few days I thought I had, which were some of the longest days of my life. At that stage I was one of very few still fighting for them, so when people make jokes or try and play this whole thing down, it infuriates me. They weren't listened to either and that's one of the biggest things about their struggles, and also this nationwide scandal too.
That said, I took it too far and have to own that. I won't be taking this any further at this point, but I won't get baited into a row either. Apologies for dragging you into it Brighton.
