We signed simms and wright to replace gykores’s goals, wrights doing it on his own, we keep wright and sell simms, bassette has a good pre season and he’ll be back up with Asante, can’t see us signing another CF

We signed Simms to replace Godden and Wright to replace Vik really.
Wow what a complete and utter melt down in this group!!!! All of you should just stay away from the CBS toxic bollocks all the time!!! Haji wrights been out for months with an injury and still finishes as our highest goal scorers on 12!!! What does that tell you about the rest of the strike force? They aren't that good and the players behind them providing for the goals aren't that good either!! It's a team game.. now shut the fuck up and enjoy the process!! We are in the best position we have been in seasons and half of you wouldn't of even been interested in the shit era!! Get behind the lads you bunch of wet wipes

“Aren’t that good”. Once again only Norwich out scored us out of everyone outside the top two. We scored more than Sunderland. More than Sheff Utd.

It really is nuts that the prevailing view after that season where we also conceded more than Derby, is the defence is untouchable and we need to rip up the attack.

Kiefer Moore great pass to set up Sunderland's winner at Wembley . Morris had poor season.

Yeah. Someone like them I mean.

Also a tad harsh on Moore who had a fantastic season for SU bar one pass in the last game of the season. He did his job for 9 months before that.

Total agree. If we stick with this system and what I saw especially second leg of the semi final we need a proper champ target man. A focal point. We produce lots of crosses and balls in.

Someone like a Kiefer Moore or a Carlton Morris. A big massive guy up front who puts himself about a bit. Might not be the best quality wise but will be a nuisance someone who can win a header or score a header or pick an easy second ball off.

Haji simply doesn’t offer you anything like it. If we had a big man up front to scare Sunderland a bit we would have won so many more second balls and headers and then who knows what would have happened.
The two Sunderland games simply aren't representative of how we will approach games next season. If we end up shipping out Wright and replacing him with Kiefer Moore or Carlton Morris because we think that's the only way to win then I'd be incredibly disappointed.

Moore didn’t have a fantastic season … he was OK. Given his wages and loan fee our fans would have gone ballistic with his relatively modest contribution.

It’s a gamble to sell if it leaves us a weaker team selling Haji.

You’re looking at spending around £10m for a striker to replace him and that player would likely have higher wages. Anything less than £15m is a waste of time for us.

We didn't spend £10m on him in the first place, or Simms.

We need the money if we want to spend this window. Vik's £4-5m isn't going to go far on the shopping lists people have.

we will spend money that isn't generated from sales as well, it's our model and we will invest to hopefully make a profit

selling our best forward for less than he is worth is frankly moronic

You're hero Latibeaudiere and those donkeys Binks and Collins cost us shit loads of goals.

Im not Latibeaudiere but im happy you think im a hero.

Also you may have missed where I’ve been screaming to replace the defence for weeks and keep getting told they’re perfect and the real problem is out one in two record striker.

Binks barely played FFS. Blaming him and not “your heroes” Kitching and Thomas is a choice.

Oh well done, you were banging on the drum for months about how great Latibeaudiere was.

No I just don’t jump on the hyperbole train about players. And that makes simpletons think you’re making out someone is a hero and not just pointing out that they aren’t in fact the worst player ever.

You were putting up that meme for months about 3 managers picking Latibeaudiere and how good he must be because of it.

Robins was sacked picking him, Carr has absolutely zero reputation in the game as a manager and Lampard was fresh in the door and replaced him relatively quickly.

I mean for me the ideal scenario is play Wright on the left and sign a new striker, an on form Wright from the left is usually unplayable
Yeh tbh i think the key thing here is, yes Wright was poor a lot of the time through the middle, but he was only really playing there as Lampard didn't fancy Simms or BTA really, and i don't blame him either! If you consider Wright a left sided player, where he's certainly better, then him and EMC are very strong options there. If he stays i'd expect him to play there more than up front as i think we'll recycle the other 2.
Now whether Lampard actually prefers EMC, and therefore whether the money from Wright would be more useful than Wright himself, i'm not sure. People got angry at the suggestion before but it depends how much you are talking really. I'd be happy enough going into next season with both EMC and Wright though.

you jump on the hyperbole train about players being the worst players ever, so this is pot calling the kettle.

We saw way too much of Lati and Binks under Robins unfortunately. Shot himself in the foot.

If you think Latubeaudiere is responsible for our defensive issues all season I don’t know what to say. Other that well done on not blaming Dasilva I guess?

But sure. Our top scorer is our biggest issue because we were only second highest scorers and Kitching and Thomas are PL quality.

Funny way of spelling Salech 🤣

If Robins was still manager I'd agree completely - that inside forward role running into space is how you get the best out of Haji

Problem is I think EMC is what Lampard wants from a winger in his system - close control, dribbling, good delivery. I think if Haji does stay Lampard will try to mould him into the striker he wants or he'll need to adjust tactics to allow him to get into the spaces where he can hurt teams. Only the coaching staff will know if that is possible

If he does move on I don't think I'd be too worried. I think we can get a striker more suited to the system & a first-team winger to rotate with EMC/Saka and still have money left over

A lot of people mentioning Salech/Moore/Morris - I think that Lampard would actually want someone like Hirst. He scores less than Haji but was instrumental in Ipswich doing so well last year (they only won 1 in first 6 after he got injured). Presses aggressively from the front, stretches defenses, can hold the ball, scores headers
