I assume the complete thundercunt named Robinsforever has had their account deleted, as their posts quoted on here and football threads are no longer accessible. I can't believe anyone is still saying they are an ally of Israel. As for news outlets, don't believe them if you think it is all Hamas-influenced propaganda ... but to ignore the cripplingly agonising pleas and first-hand testimony of Tom Fletcher (UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Relief) when he asks the UN General Assembly "ARE we doing 'all that we can'?" is ignorance in the extreme.

Couple of days before the statement from the government read an article that there was an expectation more pressure would be applied to Israel. Not because Netanyahu has an arrest warrant out for war crimes, not because of the number of deaths, not because of the daily footage of children and babies being starved or burnt alive. Because it was becoming an issue in polling.

The aid setup is a separate conversation, but what is the possible justification for tanks opening fire on crowds of people queuing up for food aid? Was there a Hamas commander hiding in the line? Did it help to free a hostage?

I don't know why but if you substuted trucks for tank's crossed my mind there, maybe water?

Not sure what you're complaining about. The US / Israeli private company providing the 'aid', which appears to be uncooked hot meals those receiving them have no means of cooking, says its not their problem that the aid sites are in locations where people are likely to get shot at by the IDF.

Not like anyone could have predicted these issues when actual aid charities were blocked
Speaking to the BBC World Service's Newshour programme last night, UN human rights chief Volker Türk said the way humanitarian aid is being delivered in the area was "dehumanising" and "unacceptable".

“It’s heartbreaking. I cannot believe that humanitarian aid is delivered in such circumstances. It’s unacceptable, it’s dehumanising and I really hope there is a rethinking of the whole absolute need to get humanitarian aid in quickly and not through the current system," he said.

“I think what it shows is utter disregard for civilians. Can you imagine people that have been absolutely desperate for food, for medicine, for almost three months, and then they have to run for it or try to get it in the most desperate circumstances," he added.

Israel set up the GHF as a way to bypass the UN as the main supplier of aid in Gaza, claiming an alternative was needed to stop Hamas stealing the aid.

Just catching up with Channel 4 News. Could do with a few more journalists like Krishnan Guru-Murthy. Made David Mencer look a complete idiot just sitting there repeating 'that's what Hamas wants you to say' over and over when the lies are challenged.

His CV makes for interesting reading, our old friends Weber Shandwick and director of Labour Friends of Israel.

My recently elected local MP is current chair of LFI. It didn't get a single mention in his election materials. He's been over to Israel on trips funded by LFI. Scumbag.

The grim news is just relentless

At least eight Palestinians were killed and several others injured in an Israeli air strike targeting a school in western Khan Younis, southern Gaza, according to medics and eyewitnesses.

Eyewitnesses report that an Israeli drone struck two tents, which were housing dozens of displaced people, including women and children, who had fled from areas in eastern Khan Younis.

Local journalists and activists stated that the school had recently received hundreds of displaced residents from the al-Amal neighborhood in central Khan Younis, following Israeli air-dropped leaflets calling on residents to evacuate the area.

Aid distribution centres in Gaza will be closed today after the Israeli military warned roads leading to the sites will be considered "combat zones".

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), a controversial US and Israel-backed aid network which began operating last week, says it is closing its sites for "update, organization and efficiency improvements works".

In a separate update, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) says people would be "prohibited" from entering the distribution centres or travelling on roads leading to them.

A Unicef spokesperson in Gaza has criticised the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), saying the US and Israeli backed group is a "pretence of aid".

Speaking about GHF's decision to pause its activity today, James Elder tells the BBC Radio 4's Today programme that he wasn't aware of it until early this morning.

Describing the situation in Gaza yesterday, he says people have been walking 15-20km to get aid.

"There are teenage boys in tears at the car window showing me their ribs," he says.

He says beyond the pause, there's a wider issue of how aid is being distributed in Gaza.

"They're claiming their giving aid to people, it's not nearly sufficient. We're talking about a handful of distribution sites versus 400 during the ceasefire," he says.

He adds that trusted organisations continue to be blocked from distributing aid in the enclave.

"That's what's really lacking, big organisations that should be delivering 500-600 trucks a day. Instead, we're talking about 500-600 boxes going to individuals a day," he says.
