Ohare nowhere near good enough for a team looking to get tonthe PL he looked lost when he came on.

Hamers lifestyle has come back to bite him. He isn't fit enough and Wembley is a very tiring place to play. Can't be a coincidence that in 2 Wembley appearances he gets injured after aaround 70 mins. Would not have either back.

Sunderland were supremely fit. Totally destroyed us in extra time physically and totally beat down Sheff Utd.

They will stay up with that manager. Their Chairperson got it spot on and can see them becoming a force in the PL as they may well attract billionaire owners as its a huge club.

Dabo got dogs abuse for the penalty miss two years ago, arguably MVE having his brain fart cost us as much if not more.

MVE got 2 assists across the two legs. He more than made up for his mistake.

Except that we were far the better side in the first half of extra time.

Did Dabo get "dog's absuse" from the majority of fans or was it the minority?

Agreed when will people stop digging MvE out if it wasnt for him we wouldnt have scored, cost us 1 created 2 so his mistake is nothing in reality
I think it's just the irony, the player that cost us the final/chance of PL promotion, is the player most likely to get the big move to the premier league regardless. He was gutted and distraught after the game, but that'll all be forgotten when he's earning £50k a week sitting on Evertons bench next season.

Online at the time it was a significant number. Not advocating MVE gets that BTW but he did basically cost us the tie. Had we drawn the 1st leg we would have won the 2nd leg at a canter i think. Costly mistake. As was Wright's missed header in 2nd leg. In big games u hope your best players produce.

As shit as HW has been, his missing that chance wasn't a big or as crucial a moment as MVE gifting them a lead in the manner he did. I don't think a single person on this forum would still of had HW on the pitch at 89mins of the 2nd leg. Without gifting that goal, a 1-0 win on the night was enough. HW isn't needing to make that header.

Don't think picking up an injury has anything to do with his lifestyle. If his lifestyle was so poor he wouldn't be able to out sprint everyone and have calmness and quality for his assist. Oozed quality again and being replaced by Bereton Diaz was always going to see a deterioration in their team performance.

That is all hypotheticals. Without MVE putting in that cross we aren’t winning 1-0 on the night

His injury today was a lack of conditioning I thought as it looked like he cramped after stretching for the ball mid air.

Which i understand. And which is why I'm not digging out MVE. But to ignore his MASSIVE error because of an assist is nonsense. His fuck up, regardless of anything else he done over 2 games, was the main reason we lost. Regardless, it's done now.

You said we lost over 2 games because of one mistake which isn’t true at all.

No i didn't. I said that was the most crucial mistake. I never said that was the only reason we lost. Unless I'm mistaken. Show me where I've said that? You can't, because I didn't. I said it was the most crucial moment, which is in my opinion, it was. Without that it's 1-1 and we win at theirs easily. As the game happened we needed HW to score and he didn't. But without the MVE fuck up, HW missing at the end is irrelevant.

What evidence is there we win at theirs easily? If it’s 1-1 their game plan at home may have been different?

you said MVE cost us promotion

Because I think he did. There were other factors, as the 2 ties went on, that added to it, but looking at facts, at 1-1 and a 1-0 lead at theirs, we go through. With a 2-1 loss and a 1-0 win it's only good enough to get us to extra time which we all know how that finished. There were plenty of things we could've done different, HW not missing a free header was one. HW not being on the pitch should've been another. But the main factor was the thing we have done repeatedly week after week, not just in the play-offs, but almost every week of the regular season, it was giving away cheap, soft, and easy goals.

Either way, I've got much better things to be doing on a bank holiday weekend Saturday evening than dredge over old ground that we'll clearly never agree on so I'll happily agree to disagree, bid you a good evening, and hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.
