The planet where I want to keep Rudoni, Im not saying we can get that for him Im saying thats what I’d ask to price them out but if they are dumb enough to pay 25m+ which they wont take it. Promotion to the prem wins you 100m and Rudi can be the difference between getting there and not
But not getting promotion mean selling our better players for both our financial sake and the players ambitions. No guarantee we get promoted with Rudoni in the team. He wasnt the difference this year was he? Nobody wants him to be sold but you have to be realistic

Normally I would agree, but that article came from Craig Hope - the most clued in Newcastle reporter going who has multiple links inside the club.

He's not the type of guy to rely on agent whispers to get Newcastle info. He doesn't need to.
lots of clubs will watch him, unlikely they are going to make a bid let alone a bid that will interest us

We have other assets and Rudi is someone our team is currently designed around, he is the central cog to how we work most of the time, he was the difference a lot of the time this year, to me he’s the least replaceable of all our assets currently

What do you think we’d realistically get for Milan? We know how good he is but fullbacks don’t go for mega money, £10m at the most I think.

£8-10m I reckon. His pace is a really unique asset that I think drives his price up a bit.

On Rudoni’s current form he could certainly be a PL player, but I think he has to show he can do it for a sustained period of time before a team is prepared to spend big money on him. Very happy for him to do that here, of course.

Yes, when Brighton signed him he'd played 11 premier league games, scored none and got 1 assist.

I take your point RE Bundesliga, but Rudoni should still command £30m+ if you ask me.

Anything less, and it's a no thank you.
I’d suggest the ownership would differ in opinion and anything above £20m would be considered.

We signed him 12 months ago, plenty of time left on his contract and Doug won't take a lowball offer and weaken the squad.

He's a shrewd businessman £20m would be an absolute steal and I think we'd all feel short changed.

We aren't in League 1 any more.

We would not get anywhere near 30 million for him. There’s no precedent to suggest it’s remotely viable

Rudi isn't going anywhere this summer, like Gyokeres, it took more than one good season for a team to splash the cash.

I think he'll have an even better season and can see us getting 20-25 mil for him next summer (providing we're in the Champ).

Rutter went to Brighton for £40m, similar ages, and Rudoni's stats this season are superior to Rutter's the season he was sold.

I'm not saying we would get £40m for Rudoni, but the Rutter fee is a good benchmark.

There's a less than zero chance that the £40m quoted would've been the actual figure. It would've been the fee tabled to activate the release clause but realistically it would've also been very heavily add-on based.

Gyokeres and Hamer were also but they still got sold. Other assets we may have but if a team bids the money for Rudoni you cant offer them other assets can you? I get it you love him and dont want him to leave but its the way football works now.

Ultimately no one knows what we'd get. Entirely depends on what clubs are interested, how many are in the bidding pool and how hard nosed the club are about keeping him. Pointless trying to put estimates on it.

That being said, DK is shrewd and drives a hard bargain so if a bid for most prized asset is accepted it's pretty obvious we'd get very well compensated.

they were much further into their contracts than Rudi currently is and/or had been told they would sell them that summer

their value would then only depreciate from that point on

rudi if he was a full season at the level he was after FL joined will be worth even more next summer

the other assest's I guess means we have players that will attract interest from other clubs that we would be more happy to sell

Yes in people’s fantasy fifa world, we want to keep him and therefore ask for something unrealistic.

In King’s business reality if someone offers to turn a £3m investment into a £20m cash flow after a year you absolutely consider it.

Just looking at some of the released PL defenders . If we are looking to sign an old head at the back then Ben Mee , Joel Ward , Jonny Evans and Craig Dawson would all fit the criteria??

Leeds signed him for £36m.

You cant activate a release clause by saying we'll give you £20m now and £20m in 12 months.

He went for £40m and you don't need add ons as there was a release clause.

Right well there’s another reason you can’t use Ritter as a bench mark for Rudoni.

If he’s moved to Leeds for £36m, and then had a good season and in demand Leeds are gonna hardly go “ah yeah we will take £25m for him”

I agree with most of what you are saying but Man United have agreed with Wolves to pay Cunha's release fee in 3 parts.

But you are right about add ons etc not being anything to do with it.

No they didn't. It was a £25m deal with £10m of add-ons most of which they didn't have to pay due to them being relegated. It's idiotic to think that Leeds made a £15m profit on him from a season in the championship.

And Brighton did some off the record deal to pay in instalments that you've got wind of? :ROFLMAO:

My mate is a Brighton fan and he said they paid £40m for him. Outright.

This is SISU level transfer thinking.
SISU would have been banding him around for £10m.

it’s just realistic for a club in our position.

we recoup the profit, put a sell on clause in and then spread the funds to try and build a squad with more potential value. It’s just the nature of business
