Not sure how energy will stay down with a load of foreign private companies controlling that sector. It seems they offer a short term decrease in prices for the summer when they know demand is at its lowest and jack it back up again when we need it most 🤷‍♂️
It's true, look at Saudi with the oil price for example, the have the line project to finish too, Of course with all the deals signed lsst week who knows how thst will play.
The prediction is for it to fall as much as the last increase, and then likely fall for the next two quarters and I can belive that tbh.
I think the markets riggable along with Offgem!

Energy is coming down and predicted to stay down so quite substantial on its own.
Predictable market forces and Offgem, a marriage made in heaven for Govts to do whatever they wish with a slush fund!

Seriously, do you believe energy prices will stay down?

The energy cap increased by 6.4% from the 1st of April to June.

Energy prices are higher now than what they were in January and even IF they come down slightly in the summer they will still be higher than then what they were in January.

Let's wait and see if they come down by MORE than 6.4% in July. 🙏🙏🙏

Privatisation has been an unmitigated failure for the man in the street hasn't it?

Not according to the pundit there's a lot of initiatives around deals that have been done recently, not just in this country, but across the pond!

For those calculating the increased revenue, you've not removed the inclusive tax which isn't ours!

I've also heard news out today and only a small increase with some age bands adjusted, but reluctant to put my cock on the block to be outed if it's inaccurate!

I think that’s true in all of these areas. Energy, water the railways all very expensive and all catering for the needs of shareholders rather than customers.
Energy, water and even transport are basic human needs. Surely they should be provided to people at cost price (add on a percentage for infrastructure needs) without fat cats making money on them.

You could add housing to your second paragraph.

Unfortunately, the cult of St. Margaret still prevails.

It's not some relative ambitious switch to privatisation, it's a tool that is being used to milk all of us dry while we exist and will happen more and more, that kind of thinking is obsolete now,.

Add broadband and telephone, mobile connectivity. They're just utilities. Having them privatised with duplicated sales, marketing, customer service, tech teams etc just adds huge cost, as well as prioritising shareholders.

Add iPhones to list of ‘basic needs’ too.

Reckon if we vote for a privately educated metals trader that wants to privatise the NHS it’ll sort this.

No handsets have wide choice like food, you want to nationalise networks that create monopolies. I’m not sure mobile networks fall under that though. Open Reach 100% does.

What’s this got to do with season tickets?

Gents, I was being snarky in response to the growing list of ‘basic needs’.

No critical service (light and heat, water etc) should be run as profit making company. It’s ridiculous.

Anglian Water have paid out millions in dividends whilst my water bill has gone to £110 a month. They say these companies need to make profit to invest in infrastructure but all the drains around me are full of dirt. They’ve invested fuck all.
