The BBC are reporting that an independent commission has started to look at multiple breaches of financial fair play by Leicester City.

The main one relates to their "successful" 2023/24 season in the championship. I remember it well!

Bring it on!

I think these charges relate to their time in the EPL but once again, due to their skullduggery, the authorities have had to rewrite the rules.
.don't think the 'we're in a different league' trick can work any more.

So it shouldn’t. Seeing that they avoided punishment by the Premier League because the breaches were in the EFL (or vice versa) were laughable.

If there are laughably easy loopholes to exploit, they may as well do away with financial fair play altogether.

A starting point of 12, they may get more

It needs to be circa 20 points deduction for it to really have any meaning. It won’t be but it needs to be. …

If you look at the gap between the top 2 or 3 in the championship ( normally the recently relegated clubs ) and the rest of the league it’s circa 20 points plus, this season it was even more. If you don’t put them at real risk of not getting promoted again then the punishment is not sufficient to put teams off cheating.

In the 23/24 season Leicester were 27 points clear of 7th and 7 points clear of third. A 6 point penalty or similar means no real impact In all probability.

That season their average wage bill was 5 x greater than the rest of the championship. They made no attempt to comply with the rules and bought Winks and Coady in on over £75k a week from the premier league.

If it is a 12-point deduction, better hope that it doesn’t end up pushing an autos-calibre team into the playoff mix with us…

100% agreed. Sheffield’s 2 point deduction had no impact on their season. The punishment needs to harsh enough that it could cost an offenders automatic promotion/playoffs/surivival otherwise it’s a slap on the wrist.

They will get away with it if I had six fingers I’d be more worried about the recruitment team than any amount of points deduction. Even Vardy has seen the writing on the wall and done one

I’ll love this if it’s true, the volume of crap I had last week when we went out the play offs was unbelievable considering their shitshow of a season.
Downside of working in Leicester I suppose but the benefits are things like this to mention 😂

We (as a City) should lead the way before the spineless, chinless cretins of various footballing bodies procrastinate any points decision by imposing tariffs on the batches they import across the border.

Haven’t they suffered enough? Born in a shithole with extra digits, webbed toes. They have to follow family tradition in procreating with their sisters where nobody can tell the difference between the bride and groom in their normal dress. Alienating 700,000 odd family members by being left off the wedding invitations. Have I left off living in a shithole?
We all know that back in medieval times every village had an idiot. At a point in time.. now lost in the mists of time… the idiot from every village was rounded up… often the idiots were somehow related (which nobody knew how) once rounded up they were put into a single location so as not to bring down the collective IQ of a village, but also to ensure the safety of the children of every village. We now know that place by its modern name.. Leicester.

I really thought the punchline here was going to say... 'Sky Blues Talk'.
