Ok so were we still spending the Gus and Vic money when we spent i *think* £4mill on Grimes?
We have cash money, not ludicrous amounts and its managed tightly, but we certainly arent fishing for free agents to the like of oli mcburnie.

(I also like both BTA and Da Silva and think both should be retained and be part of a wider squad)

This summer we will almost certainly have Gyokeres sell on money to spend, possibly Hamer too, i suspect atleast one of Simms, Wright, Sheaf or MVE to go for decent wedge too. Again, this means we can reinvest in the squad, meaning we dont need to be fishing in barrels for absolute shite discarded by other teams, which is my main point.
Agree we will have some money, but less than last year and we do have to spend it well.
Any Recruitment Team will look at free transfers first, if we want them and can get them within our strict wage structure. Our record has been pretty good unearthing some gems from abroad. Don't know if the Grenada player is coming or is bullshit, but sounds like the free transfers we need. Be surprised if we sign someone who can't do a job.
Think we went from 18th in the Championship income table to around 8th with the Vic and Gus money. We are punching above our weight compared with parachute clubs and Brum and Wrexham.

There is no such thing as 'free transfers'. Out of contract yes but not free, no transfer fee but enhanced signing on fee, wages and agents fee.

He has done well 14 games 0 goals and 0 assists, we could offer 500k for him.
Stamenic is an out-and-out DMF. He’s not a goal scorer.
He had a frighteningly good season with Red Star, though this loan move to Greece clearly hasn’t worked out that well.

I was massively impressed with a few of his performances for Red Star, 23/24.

Binks - sell
Asante - Sell
Collins - Sell
Simms - Sell
Tavares - release
Howley - Release
Burroughs Release

Lati/ Allen/ Patters I'm keeping.

Angus Gunn / Fabianski - Free
Danny Ings - Free - 1 year deal
Jamal Lewis/ Harry Toffolo - Free transfer
Ben Mee - 1 year free transfer (experience and cover)
Cameron Burgess - free transfer

Oliver Antman - fee
Torbjorn Heggem - fee
million manhoef - fee
Kōki Saitō - fee
Adriano Bertaccini - fee
Josh Sargent - fee

Obviously not saying we should sign all of the above, just thrown a load in the mix that I believe would all improve both the starting 11 and the squad depth.

We need more direct fast tricky players.

This guy is 20 and would be good competition with EMC

Lad is rapid, think he might be quicker then EMC, might be as quick as milan tbf, very skillful and won alot of pens because of his speed and skill.

Type of players we need, a forward line with sheer pace and trickery to give players nightmares, loved to see this guy give O'Nein a nervous breakdown on the pitch 😂

Exactly the type of wide players we need to bring in.

We have centre backs that have scored more and assisted more than him, plus only playing 14 games doesn’t show a great success.

The Nixon link is to Cov wanting to sign a Villa player.

I don’t have Patreon so I don’t know who the player is yet.

I assume it’s Bogarde? Pretty sure he was the one we tried to loan in the summer but they had an injury to Cash.

Frank Lampard’s Coventry City are leading the race for Aston Villa right back Kaine Kesler-Hayden.

The Sky Blues are willing to pay £5 million plus extras for the exciting defender who had a good season on loan at Preston.

Villa will sell Kesler-Hayden as they trim their squad and the player knows his time at his first club is nearing an end.

Kesler-Hayden, 22, has been out on loan five...

Kaine Kesler-Hayden picked up three trophies in Preston North End’s 2025 Player Awards.

The young wing-back is the latest recipient of the Sir Tom Finney Player of the Year award, as voted for by the PNE fans, and his teammates have also selected him as the Players’ Player of the Year.

Kaine, who has played more minutes than any North Ender this season, was also the emphatic winner of the Young Player of the Year accolade.

The 22-year-old has enjoyed a brilliant loan spell from Aston Villa, playing 50 times prior to the final day and he’s recently described it as the favourite loan of his career.

In other categories, there was a 13-goal shortlist for supporters to choose from as their Goal of the Season, and Robbie Brady’s stunning free-kick against Burnley picked up 62% of the vote. The Irishman sent North End on their way to an Emirates FA Cup quarter-final with a beautiful strike right into the top corner at Deepdale.
