Firstly, we had a load of money last year from Vic and Gus. May get a further windfall but certainly not as much. We have saleable assets that may weaken not strengthen the team. Everyone is up for grabs if the price is right. MVE or Rudoni would be difficult to replace.
JDS has been brilliant in the last few games. I guess he was a Viveash recommendation, but had an amazing pedigree.
BTA is a player who needs to run on to balls and is not a great player with his back to the play. Injuries have blighted his season. When we played a counter attacking system enforced by injuries he looked good. Absolutely no evidence other than rumour that he was somehow solely a Robins buy.
Ok so were we still spending the Gus and Vic money when we spent i *think* £4mill on Grimes?
We have cash money, not ludicrous amounts and its managed tightly, but we certainly arent fishing for free agents to the like of oli mcburnie.

(I also like both BTA and Da Silva and think both should be retained and be part of a wider squad)

This summer we will almost certainly have Gyokeres sell on money to spend, possibly Hamer too, i suspect atleast one of Simms, Wright, Sheaf or MVE to go for decent wedge too. Again, this means we can reinvest in the squad, meaning we dont need to be fishing in barrels for absolute shite discarded by other teams, which is my main point.

Luciano Valente, can play AM aswell as CM, 21 years old Dutch lad, plays for FC Groningen, value €2.5 million, as the kids say absolute baller! Excellent close control, takes his defender on, makes good amounts of assists too

Think we’ll make a better signing than grimes ? surely with Lampard we’ll be getting at least one big signing, the rest will be like Saka and MVE,,never heard of them before

Chappers and Sean Dyche talking about Palace
Talking about players from the Championship and developing them.
Chappers mentioned Rudoni - been a few conversations about him - and how a manager might convince a Premier club to sign such a player.
Dyche mentioned Gyokeres - how he played against Everton in pre-season and he questioned how/why their scouts had missed him!

And Huddersfield fans reckon they mugged us off signing Rudi for that price

I can definitely see us getting offers for Rudoni, I just hope Doug holds out for mega money, as he's developing into a top class player.
We would need the kind of money that could reshape the team, so 25 to 30 million at least I'd suggest.

Couple of decent loans this season surely?
Asked ChatGPT about potential signings from abroad (slow this time of year and starved of rumors already 😂) according to it one player that's emerged as a potential target is Eduard Löwen, German player in the MLS, plays as a CM/DM/AM his value is €5 million, seen this free kick he scored and it was absolute class

Fairly sure Rudoni was from Palace academy originally

On Vik, there’s a few Arsenal, Man U and other Prem supporters who question if he can adapt to English football, seemingly ignorant to the fact he cut his teeth in the Championship.

Which is a more physical league than the Prem and there’s been a lot of Championship players who make the grade in the Prem comfortably.

The Championship as a league is really underestimated at times.

It's the strongest league in Europe outside the big 4-5 top divisions. Your typical top flight fan just assumes everyone below the Prem is Sunday league standard

It’s a reasonable question to ask, the gap between the Championship and the PL is bigger than ever. The Portuguese league appears to be of a wildly variable standard.

I suspect all we'll see is the departure of the usual suspects plus 2-3 incomings all in defence. And the incomings most likely will be blokes from Europe we have never heard of.

Good outside bet - Frank persuades DK to forego his veto on loans

For promoted teams, not individual Championship players. This is a fundamental difference because it’s a lot easier for a player to make the step rather than a 25 man squad. Plenty of players have made the grade stepping up from the Championship.

As I’m watching the FA Cup final, a few of Palace’s team cut their championship; Guehi, Wharton and Eze. You have recent goal scorers like Watkins, Delap, Wood, Mitrovic, Bowen, Toney and even Grealish all came from the Championship.

And plenty of players haven’t!

Yeah and in relation to Vik, he’s gone on to score goals in European competitions and is behind Salah in the golden boot running.

Vik for €60-80m about is about as safe an investment you can make for Prem team needing a top end striker.

Odd thing is when Wharton played for Blackburn against us in autumn 23, I thought he had a bit of a mare. It was also one of the worst games I have ever seen since promotion.
