Don't think he'll be off to Southampton but I think people need to be careful with the he loves it here and won't want to leave stuff. Just setting yourself up for disappointment.

Just can't see him turning down an opportunity to progress his own career. Start next season well and it's not hard to imagine one of the teams struggling at the bottom of their Prem take a look at him when they inevitably fire their own manager.

I think the advantage we have and that Frank and Robins both need is a club that will give them time. So for Frank to move within a year of coming here it'd have to be a club that was committing him over a long term. We all know how rare that is at all levels of the game but particularly the Championship & Premiership. Not uncommon these days for teams to cycle through 2 or 3 managers in a season. Madness.

I said back when we were linked with RVN & Carsley one major plus point for FL is that he has been burned is his past couple of jobs so he will appreciate the love he gets here. He also has a few years premiership experience so I do not think he would be desperate to jump at the first opportunity to go back there unless it was a great offer, whereas RVN showed his true colours taking over a burning ship as he was so desperate to mange in the prem and has damaged his own reputation.

I personally believe he will give us another season, he said when he first arrived he has turned down a number of jobs whilst waiting for the right one and you have to believe he has been vindicated so far by doing that after what we have achieved this season. I also hope by him committing it will stop the likes of Rudoni's heads being turned for another 12 months

He needs sustained success and I think he knows that. It's why he took so long to come back into management and didn't jump at the first job.

If he went to Saints he'd most likely get them up but then struggle and either be sacked or relegated. That would condemn him to being a Championship manager at most for the rest of his career.

Taking Coventry up for the first time since 2001 would be bigger for his reputation.

Indeed. Common sense though , and I'm not having a pop at you at all BTW, clearly dictates that Lampard isn't stupid enough to ruin his reputation by leaving so soon after replacing the longest serving EFL manager at the time. Not for Southampton a club equal in stature to Coventry.
Now, if Chelsea come knocking that's a different story. I doubt anyone would begrudge him that move at all but lampard still has much to prove as ultimately this season was still a Robins squad apart from Grimes. Lampard will be judged next season and in many ways his proper job starts now as he can now shape the team how he wants it. Personally I think he will get Coventry up next season and probably at that point leave if a bigger club or England Come in for him if england fail at the world cup as I expect us to sadly.

As to whether FL goes at some point, I think that's inevitable. There's not much loyalty either way in football, as King has demonstrated. I doubt he'll be here for more than another season or two either way (imho) - if he does go I hope it's because he's done a great job with us, obviously.

I’m a firm believer that managers should stay at clubs where they’ve ‘got a good thing going’. Too many managers try to jump ship early and come unstuck; Nathan Jones and Schumacher to Stoke spring to mind.

Lampard said he believed in the project and what we’re trying to build here and I’d expect to progress as a club before moving on.

Two different Prem teams have already considered him on three different occasions! If we start well next season then I think PL interest is inevitable.

Jumping ship to a team in the same division who are coming off a disastrous Premier League campaign. Yes, he'll have more money, and a better squad (on paper), but there will be disharmony, players wanting out etc. + It won't do his reputation much good. You can understand the Derby exit as he wasn't going to turn down Chelsea, but to move to bloody Southampton?!

Frank will get us up next season.

Hopefully he's doing well enough for that to be a possibility, and hopefully he sees the benefit in seeing it through rather than jumping ship. Not worth worrying about.

I agree this is the version where he leaves us, but it would surely be frustrating for him to not see through the promotion to have something on his managerial CV. At the moment he still has nothing really.

I suspect his remit is to get us up. Genuinely think if he does well with us and gets us up he will manage England.

He doesn’t need money. He needs his reputation restored as a winner, which is exactly what is happening here. The turnaround was quality this season. If he has a similar year in 25/26, perhaps some PL club will come calling. I think it would have to be something promising though. I can’t see him going for Southhampton or the equivalent
