Yeah of course

I mean I’d keep him, but if his head is turned we should move him on and reinvest

if he stays in the division doesn’t really sit well to be honest

that’s if he goes

And also EMC has been out, who else is expected to play LW
If he’s had teams watching him, the stinking performances make even less sense unless it’s ‘I don’t want to risk an injury’.

Sell him outside the division if at all possible.

What will Lamps do. 2 weeks off then back on to start looking at transfers?

The recruitment team will be looking at players. Then lampard will help decide which to pursue further

Guess we finally see if the rumours about mean Mark Robins forcing poor Dean Austin to sign crap were true.

Think they need to really persist with Bassette next season, has all the attributes of a great striker.

Ive said it since the first time I saw him play, he’s got a bit of Vik about him
He’s nothing like him whatsoever. There’s no way we’re going to persist with Bassette next season. If anything he’ll be sent out on loan.

If Wright has genuinely thrown the toys out due to playing on the left then times up for him. For me there has always only been one berth in the side for him or EMC which was always an issue. With Emc and Saka we’re not changing that system so FL should get a poacher in there who will attack things and do normal CF stuff.

One of the lads on the Sky Blue Extra podcast said he has heard Michael Olise's brother is nearly done. Looks to be a 20 yr old RB at Chelsea who's contract expires this year, although it does say on transfermarkt they have an option of a 1 year extension.

I’ll be Ipswich they were linked with him before

genuinely I’m at the point after those performances if he wants to go let him and we’ll reinvest it. Don’t want players who don’t want to be here
That's all i ask for as a supporter, is players that want to play for the shirt they're wearing. I don't know if his head as been turned or not that's not for me to presume. However some of his recent performances were questionable, the pulling out of challenges, overall demeanour etc. Frustrating.

not trying to defend him too much here, and I’m not really that bothered whether he stays or goes to be honest but I think that’s his general demeanour on the pitch. Whenever he’s not played well he’s generally considered lazy and uninterested. I’m not sure that’s really the case, I personally think he’s been a bit low on confidence and just generally out of form. As I said in another thread I do think we need a number 9 whose going to be a lot better off the ball though

No of course, i know he's a chilled guy and always has that vibe about him. I was more talking about like pulling out of challenges suggests he doesn't want to risk injury perhaps, throwing his arms up at team mates, noticed a couple of them giving him a talking to on the pitch on Tuesday night too which isn't normal for him.
I agree, we either need players to suit this system who are going to help our forwards thrive, wide players with a bit of pace and consistent scoring ability. Or if any of them move on, then target strikers who are proven in the system Lampard wants to play.

Honestly the same, think he'd fit in well. Had some top performances across the season against some of the top teams in the division.

Definitely Champ level not league 1.
So you'd all get rid of Haji- a proven international striker, who has played at the world cup and scored loads wherever he's asked to be played

For Ryan Hardie? A relegated striker who Plymouth fans were crucifying for the majority of the season for not being good enough?

Our fans are wild

Comments so far concentrate on attacking weaknesses - Simms and wright are rubbish etc etc. At the same time there is general satisfaction with the defence except for left back - but it sounds as though we have one lined up for that.

The stats tell the exact opposite story (the fans have got it wrong, who'd have guessed?). We score plenty of goals but we're undone by defensive errors that we were only briefly stemmed when Dovin came back.

Strikes me that if the goal is to avoid the lottery of the play offs, we need to be a bit more Burnley. That means one of Kitching or Thomas needs to become squad only and whatever money we can muster goes on a stonkingly good central defender and leader. In the way that Grimes was a strategic solution to the midfield problem

I’d like to think we do a lot lot better than Ryan Hardie
We can, think it would be a decent pick up though as a backup if he agreed to that.

He wouldn't be a full on starter as sorts and he's not as good as Wright but he stood out in a rather mediocre Plymouth side. A couple of their players looked decent when the new manager came in.

I'd be shocked if we aren't sniffing around for Bundu. Out of contract, he can play all across the front (LW, ST, RW) so is ideal to switch in and out. Scored 10 when his expected goals were 5.58, meaning he can sniff out goals when there's no chances coming. Aside from Wright, our strikers are scoring less than their expected goals.

Bit like how people on here want that Asgaard from Luton. Looks like he cares more about his hairstyles rather than playing football 🤷

Agree with this, all you have to do is look at the final stats, GF and GA tells the story. A combination of individual errors and getting caught out far too often. I'd like us to keep Thomas and Kitching and replace one or two of the bench players with a more experienced head. A good addition at RB too.

At 28 I can’t see it tbh

If we keep playing the same system then I don't think any of Simms, BTA or Wright fit as a CF. We were all excited when Grimes joined as we saw the highlights of his fantastic passing to either wide player but when teams sit deep against us he can't do that. If our tactics are changed to play the ball forward quicker then all of our CFs should be good enough as they will hopefully have more space. I still want a ball carrying midfielder that can break through the oppositions midfield to create chances as well.

Some midfielders on my list are :
Michal Sadilek (FC Twente)

Adem Zorgane (R.Charleroi SC)

Will Smallbone (Southampton)
(Cant find any videos but we’ve all seen him play)

Marcelino Nunez (Norwich)

Lasse Berg Johnsen (Malmo)

Shea Charles (Southampton)

Antoni Kozubal (Lech Poznan)
Antoni Kozubal Is The Polish Lobotka!

Dogucan Haspolat (KVC Westerlo)
(Can’t find any videos)

Patrick Berg (Bodo/Glimt)

Adrian Sut (FCSB)
ADRIAN SUT - Complete Midfielder - Highlights FCSB & Romania! ᴴᴰ 2024

Are these recommendations based on stats or having watched the players? I've watched Kozubal quite a few times and he's going to be excellent. I mentioned him on here at the start of the season as someone to buy.

Afonso Sousa also at Lech Poznan would be another good buy imo.

I would like us to go for Lewis O'Brien from Forest personally in midfield. I think Grimes, O'Brien and Rudoni would be excellent.

Swansea fans' heads would genuinely come off if we did that.

Someone else suggested Adams from Derby which I don't think us a bad shout, not sure if he'd leave Derby though

Usually just so they get a compensation fee if he goes

Bundu, Dolan and Salech would be my top picks and would solve what I think are big issues we currently have. Add pace to the defense and get a couple of high energy mids and it'd a good squad.

Be great to get things done quickly and bed the new signings in.
