He’s paid to score goals, which he does, you make it sound like you‘d rather him running around more and getting assists, give him the ball to his feet and he’ll score goals, we’re slinging hopeless balls into the box hoping he’ll get on the end of one, the lads quality,
On his day he is class but overall play and team winning is better than banging the goals in and bringing nothing else as long as the team are. It's pretty obvious you are one track mind on this so I can't be bothered to explain any more.

I might be wrong, but I didn't even see him join in the celebrations when AMC scored.

As strategies go getting rid of your top scorer and best attacker over two seasons is rarely the way to go. If someone had a pop at him in the dressing room afterwards I hope he had a go back about the amount of total jackass goals we concede every game. Wright being hauled over the coals for the play off defeat. The three goals we let in which actually cost us the tie were all evidence of our continually hopeless and naive defending.

You'd be fuming if you were someone like Eccles, Tats, EMC etc. Giving your life and soul for a game and then you're 20k+ a week, international striker faffs about the pitch.

I'm still fuming.
I bet he is earning more than 20k a week.

And he can't be bothered to put in a 90-minute + performance in, is disgusting.

I can take a player having an off game. But what I will not accept is someone just going through the motions. I can't see FL putting up with that.

Next season hopefully onwards and upwards.

Have a great summer sky blue army. You have been immense this season, and should be proud of yourselves.

I think whoever plays up front in his system generally looks shit.

It's up to Lampard to either tweak the system to involve the CF more or to find a striker that fits.
I don’t think it’s a system issue, personally. I’d expect a CF to flourish with the amount of balls we put in the box.

Imo, Wright is better off the left. He looked lost up front last season and bar Sunderland at home, has this season.

IF a rocket up his arse puts more fire in his belly, then let’s keep him. His stats are good generally. If he’s unhappy or wants out or can’t really be arsed, then cash in. Lamps needs to sit down with him in the summer and work it out.

EMC is clearly no 1 at LW so he either fights for that spot or go up front but has to be better.

i wasnt sure if he had been told to stay up top and not drop back, not get involved, be the target man etc, but judgeing from what saddle has said clearly it wasnt.

if i was a betting man, grimes, kitch and tbf prob EMC would have given him an earful

i wouldn’t be either if I’d been made to look a bit daft, the reason your pissed off at wright is because we’ve just threw away that semi final because we can’t defend, there’s a few more players before wright I’d be pissed off with, and it’s not a “ one track mind “ he‘s quality, played in the right set up

If he wasn’t doing what Lampard wanted he wouldn’t have played every minute ?

I think it's a symptom of inheriting a side you haven't built to be honest. Bar an excellent two months last year his performances have been erratic both under Robins and Lampard. Wright the same except he can pop up with goals regularly.

Personally I think we actually have a system which favours strikers, especially those of Wright and Simm's stature and build.

It's up to them though to make the most of it - find pockets of space in the box, make runs near and far post, challenge defenders for the ball. Neither are doing the basics and I find it very very hard to believe those basics aren't being instructed to them on the training ground by the coaching staff.

Apart from his general play, his body language said everything. You’ve got Tats back and forth like there’s no tomorrow and Wright just half arsing tackles and jogging

An international footballer who’s scored double figures despite missing a good chunk of the season ‘wHo WoUlD wAnT HiM’.
I get some of you are angry, and I thought he was rubbish in both legs but most of you saying get rid were rimming him after his Hattrick a few weeks ago
Exactly, over the 2 legs it’s not because of wright we lost, take away MVE’s mistake, we win it and nobody’s talking about wright being lazy, love our fans sometimes 😂

I’d have said Rudi as he was doing Wrights work for him for 210 minutes

What might help his game is if he stops playing in roller skates... :)

I hate it when everyone gets down on a player (oo-err missus), because I think then all you notice is the negative stuff and you miss the positive stuff. In fairness wasn't it his challenge in the middle of the goal that led to the ball dropping to EMC?

Other than that though, I'm struggling to remember him doing anything particularly useful.

And I'm sure I saw on more than one occasion that he simply backed out of attempting to win headers from long balls, and just left the centre half to it.

Now I know it's not really his game, and I know the odds are he wouldn't beat Ballard most times, but I really, really didn't like the not trying. Tats is half the size, and backs out of nothing - maybe that's the point that was being made in the changing rooms afterwards.

I hope for us, and him, he learns something from it, and comes back a better player next season.
I don’t, he can f**k off this summer, there’s no sentiment in football I’m afraid.

@Saddlebrains what was the story with simms not getting minutes I thought he could have caused some problems last night with fresh legs against a tiring defence?

Lampards had enough of trying to get anything out of him. Even on the training ground he just cant do what's asked of him

Our fans chase everyone out in the end. It always has to be somebody's fault. We never know what's really going on!

Haji Wright has the same number of goals for the Club as Darren Huckerby and David Speedie. An injury free season would probably have seen him up near Gyokeres. A bit more level headedness required from some of our fans...

Wright has a role in defending set pieces.
He was the only one who was poor on Tuesday, and Friday of course he's going to get criticised.

"Interest" if you were recruiting would you spend big money on a player who can't even get a ball under his control(basic).Agree with ccfcchris.
I mean okay, if we break it down: we know he’s not on ridiculous wages based on what people have said and our lower than average wage budget. Costed us 3.5 million pounds.

I could absolutely see a championship side taking a punt on him considering his record last year and age. Might not get that total amount back, but could see him going for 2 million easily to a few championship sides like Wrexham for instance.
