God knows what is going to happen. Should not be too swayed by their recent form as they have had little to play for for quite a while now. You could see that when we played them a few weeks ago. They will be up for it, surely.

So expect a tight game and just coming out ahead. A two goal lead would be brilliant.

On the key decisions:-
Bidwell over JDS. This is no time for pissing around
Simms over BTA (tight call but BTA's speed as a sub for the last half hour could be of more use than having him start)
EMC -if available - on the bench

Incidentally, it is good to see Eccles back. I thought he was done for the season. He is a handy option as a sub in the midfield.

not getting too carried away but we’ve got every right to be confident

got to a play off semi finals twice, won both
not lost a game in both
got through twice against teams who finished higher than us
won both 2nd games away,
100 % record
and it’s Sunderland 😉👍

There's so much to indicate City go through its actually a bit worrying.
I suppose the big question is, can they rekindle their early season form?

spot on, it’s hard to find anything negative, they looked brilliant up until Xmas and im not buying that theyv‘e been resting for the play offs, just think they’ve been found out, there’s not a manager in the world would want to go into the play offs in that form hoping that it all just clicks again, especially now it’s us, reckon they’ve made a massive mistake,

If there's one negative, it's our away form, but a) their home form is also poor and b) we may have done enough in the first leg.

We’ve Got through all our play off games by winning the away game, still think it’s an advantage playing away 2nd, pressures huge, your spot on ,we take even a 1 goal lead away and the pressure they’ll be under, never known a team finishing so far ahead in 4th absolutely shitting it, 😂and still think without dovins injury there was a chance we could of caught them

I know Sunderland have been awful recently but fully expect them to be back to their best for the playoffs. Our great home form / 12th man with roar us onto victory, going for 1-0 with Wright with the goal.

We have 2 Cup Finals, if we are lucky or good enough, maybe three. Form stands for nothing it will be who wants it the most along with the most composure.

Get the sentiment and agree to an extent, but disagree ‘form stands for nothing’.

The players are all humans, whether they needed the points or not, losing their last 5 on the bounce isn’t going to breed a team full of confidence but naturally will an element of doubt. As well as negativity, frustrations with team mates etc.

Difficult to just switch back to a positive mindset and translate that into performance.

can’t see how they can just go back to their best, we have a system at home that we know works, big games against Sunderland West Brom and Mboro, wev‘e gone up a gear, scored 7 and not conceded any, Sunderland are just hoping they can go back to pre Xmas form, can see this going the same as the game Saturday, we’ll score first, they’ll have a few chances and we’ll nick another 1 😉👍

If we can take a minimum of a two goal lead to the SOL it would be great, just think they will be difficult to beat this time around.

Just got this horrible feeling that Sunderland being out of form they may just sit with a low block for the first leg, and we know we're absolutely shit at breaking that down.

Our attention to detail is the bonus with Lampard & his coaching staff .
We certainly haven’t had the best ref’s or run of the green at times , but the winds are changing now , with the likes of BTA , coming off the bench & looking a different player , to the one we bought .
Any lead at the CBS is important , but we have that knack of getting at least a 2 goal lead & with us having dismantled them 3 - 0 a short time ago , this was the tie they dreaded …… Another 3 - 0 & skyblue heaven !

Playing the team who are bottom of the form table in the entire League over two legs in the Play-Offs is a bit of a freak and will probably never happen again tbh - It isn't disrespectful to suggest it is a massive opportunity, but that lot still have dangerous players and will obviously raise their level as much as they can

Ideally would like to be taking a lead up there, we have never stamped authority in any of our home legs in any of our play-off campaigns so now would be a good time to start as we are gonna be heading into a huge crowd with our own fans tucked away in the top corner not being able to make much of an impact on the atmosphere next week

Let's not be complacent, I thought Middlesbrough showed us tremendous disrespect in 2023, they thought all they had to do was turn up and they would win and were left embarrassed, let's not do the same here

Don’t be fooled by Scumberland recent form, they’ve been sitting back as they knew they’d qualified, rested their players and used the last few games as a training session.
could be very very close and hard to call 🥴
