Collins has had some absolute howlers this season and is single handedly responsible for us losing so many points.

That being said I can’t even imagine the meltdown from the fans if he makes a mistake that costs us the playoffs. It’ll incite a fucking riot, the Ricoh will be burning down by the late afternoon.
11 fucking points so far!!!! we could have been sitting pretty by now

What's the reason then? Lampard just refusing to drop him because he wants to do opposite of what fans want?

OK mate
People will want to know the reason why but will ignore the obvious. Wilson's kicking can be very poor. He frequently gives the ball away. Look at how many of his kicks go out for a throw in. He will also make mistakes but not as many as Collins. Collins makes more mistakes but his kicking is very good. It was only a few games ago where his long kick helped set up our winning goal late in injury time.

I was about to nominate Collins as MOTM last game until he fooked up right at the end. He is a capable GK but too capable at mistakes in his decision making.

He actually fucked up a couple of long kicks Saturday which with hindsight was all part of his gradual deterioration as the game went on for whatever reason.
His distribution is normally very good but doesn't compensate for his other faults in my opinion.

He's obviously not always been as bad as he is now. In fact even here he was fairly competent for a spell last season, but his head has completely gone. Think he needs a fresh start, thinking a middling league 1 club where there is little pressure to achieve anything and he'll probably be fine.

I'm with you there. I'd prefer the GK with less mistakes but keeping the ball also keeps pressure away. It's quite simple. Neither are good enough for what Lampard needs.

I'm more worried about him after Saturday thean ever because as you say, he was heading for a confidence building MOTM performance and he just lost it.

Just hoping being at home at recent clean sheets in home games helps him keep it together.

As are we all

There is no ideal solution unfortunately be it Wilson or Collins who gets the nod

Hardly going to be confident going into Saturday's game is he. Not after the huge mistake last week.

I'd put Collins in for this game for two reasons. We're at home and it's against Middlesbrough. The way they play is good for our high line tactics. It also works well against other sides like Sunderland. But if we get Sheffield United in the playoffs I'd want to put Wilson in and go more defensively.

I wouldn't put Collins against anyone.

FL has put himself in a bad position and put Collins in an even worse place. The simple fact is Collins is not a championship standard gk and never wil be. Playing well in certain games or for periods of single games is not good enough. Come summer i hope Doug puts his foot down gets Collins moved on and takes this issue away from FL.

Collins was worth a punt at £600k when we signed him. Two years on, surely he can go cheap or have his contract terminated

I hope FL is prepared in case Boro DON'T play the way we think they will - I'm getting nervous now it's closer haha

Think everyones being a bit harsh on Collins, he’s getting better, last game his only mistake wasn’t until the 90th minute, if Your behind either goal Saturday and we’re 1-0 with mins to go, scream at him to stay on his line and keep his legs shut 👍

Harsh !!??? That's the point he may be ok for 80 minutes ,but he's always liable to make a clanger . He's useless non league standard keeper and that's being generous.

We should also remember the GK situation in terms of 2 very average at best no.2's is NOT of FL making, thats on Robins and recruitment team.

We can all debate the current situation, clear he will stick with collins now and we should just back him - time for inquests can come later.

Weird. Why are we ignoring Dovin for this? And the person who signed them and resigned Wilson not so long ago is still here.

Robins was often going ballistic on the sidelines due to Wilson’s distribution. He’s another players who’s improved massively by not playing.
