Team news ahead of Thursday's JPT semi-final clash between Coventry and Preston (3 Viewers)

Coventry left-back Blair Adams extended his loan stay from Sunderland on Tuesday and is therefore available, along with fellow loanee James Bailey.

The pair both started City's quarter-final success over Sheffield United.

Striker Leon Clarke did not play in the competition during his loan spell with Scunthorpe over the first half of the season and is therefore not cup-tied.

Manager Mark Robins is also unlikely to have any fresh injury concerns to contend with.

Therefore the only players who may not be considered are returning long-term absentees David Bell (toe) and Callum Ball (foot), who are both on the brink of full fitness.

Joe Garner is in line to make his Preston debut.

looks decent that though. Bit of bite in middle and decent passing abilities in Bailey, baker on his day is a threat. Solid at back with good options to press up and in Clarke we will have to wait and see but a cracking full debut? Why not :D

hes gonna prepare them differently

everytime a manager has a problem it doesnt mean the only solution is change

they manage...let him manage our first 11 to a win

I'd prefer to see Elliott given a crack - let Clarke sit on the bench and earn his place, also looks like he had an over indulgent Christmas if you ask me..

Nah Clarkes a big battering ram. Just what you need against Preston.

Personally I'd like to see Thomas in the Moussa role and Sheff dropped to the bench. Just gives us a bit of height and a bit more steel in the middle.

I think that's just his general body shape! Always been like that when I've seen him play!

Has he impressed you when you've seen him in the past? I saw his run outs against shrews / spurs obviously not enough to judge... I hope your right! 2-1 City tonight.. Lump on!

Yea, can't see that. Half the reason his loan was extended was this game. Surely it would have made news somewhere if he was crocked!! Not buying it sorry

Personally, i think it should be
Dunn
Clarke Edje Wood Adams
Baker Sheffers Thomas Moussa
Elliott Clarke

Subs
Murphy Cameron Christie Fleck Jennings Bailey Cody

Last time we lacked any sort of fire power against Preston so a denser attack is our best chance. Jenno had an uneventful game at Spur and Bailey was crap in my opinion so lets give Thomas a go. Murphy is doing decent but i personally, i wanna see Dunn given his big break

I couldn't remember why I don't take you seriously. I now remember

I bet you would have the two Clarkes the wrong way round as well :D

Why would we give Dunn his break? I trust that the manager and Oggy who train with him all week know whether he is up to scratch or not over his game against Saints where he was shit and a cameo appearance against Derby. Your too quick to jump on Murphy who has been more than solid this season, I don't remember a match going by where he hasnt made atleast 1 good stop, maybe Walsall but we fucking spanked them scoring all 6! Also we cant judge our players based on a game against a premiership team, why drop someone for having an 'uneventful' match against Scott Parker an England international and one of the most underrated players in the English game? he didnt make any errors or do anything wrong so it would just be demoralising for him and the team. I personally dont see the obsession with Thomas he hasnt done enough to warrant walking straight into the first team and is only just come back off of an injury lay off so shouldnt start as wont be fully match fit, personally I wouldnt have him on at all tonight in case he aggravates his injury against this bunch of thugs.
It has to be the team we have been playing regularly with Clarke in for McG, the only change I may be tempted to make would be to bring Clarke in for Christie who's form has dropped off recently.
