I met two Wednesday fans on the train up to Brum on Saturday and they didn’t think that guy who made those gestures to Palmer was that bad and Palmer started it.
You couldn’t make it up!!
They clearly could.

Make it up I mean.

I wonder how the Liverpool fans were at Plymouth.

Imagine seeing your team humiliated like that after driving all that way - - - from Exeter.

I always found Liverpool fans one of the worst away visitors at HR back in the day

My son is talking about taking my nine year old granddaughter to her first away game. She has a season ticket and is just starting to get into the game. We sit in Block 20 and we are generally surrounded by fairly decent people. I’m not sure that letting her see some of the behaviour that occurs in our end when away would be a good thing. I have to say that unfortunately some of the dregs of society go to football.
I don’t know how it works for definite but I’ve found when getting away tickets with a child that you tend to be near other families in a bit of a pseudo-family zone and well away from any of that business, I’ve assumed it’s allocated that way intentionally. Relatively small sample size on my part though so others may have a different experience.

Tbf because we've high points and are in the first allocation batch, then historically we've often been next to lots of the same people at most games. I assume they're sold in a particular order if you let it automatically select seats. This season has been a bit different though as either more people are now getting points or the novelty has worn off for some, but we seem to be far more random.

Tbf it's my biggest in the against column gor drinking in stands. I think most would be fine these days but some as per the euros would chuck it in the air when celebrating and I think the would cause plenty if agro.
I've been firmly against fans having alcohol at their seats ever since I got hit by a largely full launched pint (who knows how they managed to smuggle it in) after Thomas' goal in the CT Final. I looked back and saw the person who threw it, they clearly thought it was the funniest thing that had ever happened to him.

The videos of Boxpark fans holding their pints ready to launch has just solidified this belief. I really don't want to have to deal with being soaked by Madri after EMC scores a 21st minute goal against Hull.

I agree. I just wish you didn't have to go to the turnstile at 40 minutes and still spend 5-10 minutes getting a beer.

You don't say, I've always found that they're the worst at home as well and I'm speaking from experience.

Sent in by a Sheffield Wednesday fan…

“I want this “man” named and shamed. Make it as hot as you can.
Today I took 3 of my children and nephew to their first derby game. When Sheffield united scored misiles were thrown and then this individual decided to spit on the three children. I looked him square in the eye and called him a few words, and reminded him that they are kids. That didn’t matter though, he got a beer bottle and aimed it at Harry, it hit his head and has caused him mild concussion. Harry is 11 years old, Wednesday mad. Now he never wants to go again.
Now I know a lot of united fans who I love and respect. We all have banter. This is too far! I want this man’s name, a conviction and ban because this is not what football is about!!!!”

The way some people behave over a game of football says a lot about society and them in general. Absolute 🔔end
I just don't get it. Not on any level.

I remember the bad old days where sometimes you had to fight your way into a ground. I remember not exactly wanting a late winner or even a late equaliser as it would make things worse trying to get back out. It was no safer on a coach as you never knew when a brick would come through a window. But it's different now. CCTV all over the place. Nearly everyone has the equivalent of a camera and video recorder on them. Not many got caught being an idiot all them years ago. You would think this would stop the idiots.

Then to aim a missile towards kids? Why wasn't anything done at the time? He should even have been pointed out by those around him at least.

We need to here the man's account before we jump to conclusions. We have no idea what Harry did to him.

In the late 80s there were roadsigns on the approach roads to Sheffield declaring it to be a nuclear free zone.

I used to wonder how they would enforce it if USSR decided to tests Sheffield's resolve with an ICBM or two.

I thought the way it was promoted was nonsensical and irresponsible scaremongering, I regarded it as nothing but a well made dystopian drama. Were you still rather young when it was aired?

Used to have soft spot for wednesday, Hillsborough also - but after last 12 months - they are an utter bin juice of fan base especially. As above SO many incidents now its really embarrassing.
I lived in Sheffield in the mid 80's, they have always been low life glory hunters. I have always had far more respect for Sheffield United fans.
