Just as the Swansea and Sheffield Wednesday were freak results? We were just unable to break down those kind of teams that are happy defending and hitting teams on the counter.

No, only Derby was what I'd call freak. Those other games you mention could have gone either way, although if i remember rightly we were pretty dire in the first half against Wednesday yet went in 1-0 up. These days it does feel as though the team with least possession is the one most likely to score.

As you say, we weren't sharp enough to break down those kind of teams, but equally I don't think we were as bad as the league table (or the reactions on here) suggested. It's an incredibly competitive league.

Maybe, but Derby, QPR, Preston, Sheff Wed, Swansea happened where we didn't create many chances against poor teams you need to be beating to achieve our aims.

In FLs 4 games we've averaged 2.5xg, think our average under Robins this season was about 1.5.

No arguments here , but I'd be amazed if it's still 2.5 a game after 14 games

We are still woefully slow at getting forward still, think it will take time to change that element in certain players being to apprehensive...positive signs and flashes of fantastic link up play, confidence needs to be instilled / wins all help

I don’t think we are and the proof is in the pudding. That is, more shots and shots on target, higher xG and the eye test shows we move the ball quicker.

There’s definitely improvements to be made but our fixture list is pretty packed atm so the time on the training field is limited.

Fair, but Sheff W and Burnley are hardly those sorts of sides. In the former game we had players arguing on the pitch and even allowing for dubious instructions we saw things that were just inexcusable.

I maintain that as a group they pick and choose when to perform. To be blunt, I just don’t trust them.

Burnley no, but Sheffield W put in a consummate away performance on us. This is all old regime stuff, the manager is responsible for keeping the togetherness in the squad. Robins was a master of that up until 22/23 and as his stalwarts left it looks like that atmosphere and togetherness withered away.

But the argument all season has been we should have been scoring more and therefore winning games we lost or turning games we narrowly won into full your boots wins.

Not sure you can take beating an appalling bottom of the league side 2-1 at home as a sign of any particular improvement on the basis that we should have scored more.

Just seems to be more of the same to me.

Probably won't be, but we're also not even converting those chances right now, which is something I expect to improve if we can get a few more results on the board.

The tactical differences between Robins and Lampard seem pretty slight so far. In terms of formations, possession styles and personnel it’s all been quite similar to what came before. That’s not a criticism, it’s still very early, and it’s not to say Lampard hasn’t made a difference either. But I don’t see any great tactical revolution since the Cardiff game.

Well he’s binned 5 at the back for a start.

And his 433 is very different to how robins was playing it. 1 holding mid rather than two gives us more fluidity going forward.

think everyone has a decent point, FL has started making changes, it will take time to sink in..more games / more training over the following weeks...fingers crossed happy times return, deffo need more players though
