Recruitment has been shocking (2 Viewers)

It was £7.7m. And he's been here a season now, we've seen what he can do. To me he's clearly worth at least what we paid and probably more.
I think we'd get more than we paid for him if we were to sell. Unless we were relegated and needed a fire sale to survive.

Not many championship clubs dropping £10m on a striker TBF

Well you saw how hard it was to offload Vik to the PL. I’m no sure at his age and record who would have him, maybe a promoted club.
Reckon he'd do ok somewhere like Germany perhaps, he seems to have no issue moving countries pretty regularly. Maybe even back to Turkey with one of the bigger teams.

To be fair you will of course get hits and misses regardless of how much scouting you can do.

Badlan you can argue found us Hamer but also found us Dacosta, The German winger, and Waghorn.

Even Gyok is a funny one, since it sounds like not everyone of the coaching wanted him and Robins drove that one himself.

Think the players we’ve signed are decent mostly and some really good. But think the lack of experience is hurting a few of them in there development.

If I’m Doug, I talk to my recruitment team about allowing a spine of older players with leadership capabilities to come in to help develop the younger lads, even offer a pathway to coaching if that’s what they want.

For example if we carry on with a back three we’ll need an experienced CB who can read the game and pick a pass. Wouldn’t mind Santos from Bolton if we would want to keep wages down. But there must be some premiership players on there way down we could start to target.
Another L1 defender? Hmmmm.

…though persuading the owner you need another centre back after the one you spent £4m on a year ago to be your leader can’t get in the team might be easier said than done.
Same one we were chasing all through the window. 🤣

Moan about leadership but he's on the bench?

Understand the point but it’s just a relatively cheap 6ft 4 ball playing centreback. If we’re going to play in a back three think we could do worse

If we’re going to a back three might as well resign Fadz

We had a set up that seemed to be able to develop players turning some of them into world beaters. Still relatively early days, but some players seem to be going backwards in their development.

Fucking crazy

And even this season we had people moaning about summer transfer window!
That was funny, some people saying we needed 2 starting 11s of the same quality 😂

Listen I'm not on here to listen to you constantly looking for posters to insult.

What you certainly don't like is when people give you back what you dish out like i did earlier. You start arguing with people and insulting but given back you rant, probably get all sweaty & angry and repeat the insults. You simply can't debate. If you don't like what's being said on here then stop posting.

Your an invisible warrior that can't debate things. Pack it in and try and be mature and stop the insulting of people posting on here simply because they don't share your opinions. I've gave it you back earlier on an different post which is out of character and wont be happening again.

You wont like it now as i've told you what a lot of other posters think about your standard of discussion. Try and get along with people.

I wont be responding so don't start the insults again.
How's this going for you mate

Oh dear, best not to look back on some observations that looked obvious at the time.

Something irritates me is Robins said on Monday that Yamamoto and Wright were struggling to settle. If we were really careful with our recruiting why did we take a chance on oversees players and not UK based players. It just increased the risk of failure and we’re seeing it certainly with Wright.

I know there’s a risk with uk based signings but homesick must be bottom of the list right?

We don’t help ourselves do we?
Tbf you were bang on about Yamamoto, that one didn't work out at all.
