What’s prompted that up turn in form evo?

Lowe hasnt achieved anywhere near what robins has , nor has he demonstrated he can improve a team year on year .

They are not comparible

Fair point re Lowe

but the new manager has clearly impacted them positively

We definitely were not poor yesterday
First half wasn’t bad, second half reverted to type and crowned it off with another defensive masterclass of a set piece. PNE missing a load of players looked a poor side as well.

Neither has Robins? We are going backwards the more money gets spent.
We improved league positions 6 years in a row , do you purposefully forget things

We were a shootout from the Premier league after being in league 2

It was the other way around , 1st half preston the better team but we grew into it , city were the better team 2nd half

As much as Robins has things to sort out, I think he's earned one bad season and a chance to put it right next season, but if we are in danger of relegation he won't get that chance.

We better start picking up some results quickly as if we are in the bottom 3 around Christmas it will become very difficult to argue the case to keep him.

I'd rather be winning and bottom of the xg table than losing but top of the xg. Come on get real
Would you ?

Preston we're top early on last season but they were near the bottom of the xg table .

It showed that their form was unsustainable and it showed as they dropped down the league

What do you notice about the xg table from last season Screenshot_20241020_210903_Chrome.jpg

The top 3 were all promoted, almost all the teams in the top 9 finished in the top 9 .

It means something
Over 46 games, sure it does. After 10 games, 9 of which against teams who won’t finish top 6? I don’t think so.

Considering Preston were shite - if anything they show that a change of manager can indeed improve the team

My point was that lowe wasn't a great manager for preston and last season they were 23rd in the xg table, it wasn't sustainable so it's no surprise he's not there

But it also shows that another manager can take a shit show and improve it. I remember even when they were top Preston fans were saying he’d fell out with the squad.

I’m not sure Robins has the full backing of the squad, and if so it’s time for him to go, another face would get more out of these players

Let’s hope we’re top half of the xg table and stay up on the final day then, Would be a positive season at this rate

The table clearly showed that in most cases , the teams that created the most , were in the top half of the table .. the top 3 all went up automatically

I don't agree that the players aren't playing for him .

I see no evidence of that

Exactly, and they are top half of the xg table, that’s my point
There’s always anomalies, but generally the xG table is a good indicator.

I get Evo’s point. It potentially shows we’re just not taking chances and that’s the reason we’re shit.

however we’d have had a decent xG yesterday but our only shot on target was in the 92nd minute

We didn't have great xg yesterday , less than 1 . But we did score and it was wrongly chalked

Yeah I appreciate I was using that anomaly to support my argument, fair enough
