Never said wingers can’t be strikers and strikers can’t be wingers…i was on about replacing Allen with a winger when Allen plays the majority of games centre mid. Completely agree though, from the little stats I’ve looked at he doesn’t seem to be much of an upgrade on what we’ve already got. We should be looking to bring real quality in rather than people that will just do a job. We don’t need another JDS debacle, just get the right player in first time around.

I find I usually agree with you on most things but I think Poveda would just be adding numbers to the squad for the sake of it rather than improving the squad.
I’m sure he’s alright, and admittedly there’s limited stats/info to go on, but the fact no one’s really shouting his name from the rooftops speaks volumes to me. Could be wrong but personally I think we need to sign better if we’re to break into the prem.
I’d love us to sign better and hope we can but if I had a choice between Tavares or Poveda coming off the bench to replace Tats I know I’d choose Poveda ….
Yeah fair enough, I’d probably just pick Poveda too (granted I really don’t know much about him) but I think it’d be a close call. I think we need better subs in general, it’s rare we bring anyone on that makes a big impact, on a consistent basis at least.
We should have some real quality on the bench this season.
Potentially the likes of Torp, EMC, Kitching, Collins, Raphael, Lats, Allen and a new striker.

Yeah I agree, I just meant in reference to Poveda, I don’t know if he’d make a meaningful impact in a starting 11 or as a sub.
I agree with you in that I think we already have a better squad than last year, just need maybe 3 more signings to make us really competitive for automatics.
