League 1 boys need patience & support.

Dom Hyam was pretty shite in his first season in the championship. Made loads of mistakes. Looked a lot better in his second season.

Foderingham? Available on a free.

May struggle to fit all the letters on the back of the shirt with the King of Shaves logo though.

Agree, the defence will be better next season and there will be a new defensive minded coach come in to replace Lawrence, still think we'll sign an experienced pro at the back to help out and lead from the back

McNally was underwhelmed with quality surrounding him at Stoke. He can't do it all on his own
That's a cop out. Many players underperformed at Stoke and he was one of them.
I'm not even suggesting he can't come back from it and be a very good Championship centre back, but its the usual thing of pretending what we have is rubbish and what we failed to get is superb. In this case, I'm not buying it.

Getting the recruiting right is essential for any club to move forward the hardest part is providing list of players that constantly improves the group for a manager to work with. Im sure Robins gives his input of what he wants and types he is looking for to create the list he will look over.

Contract, age, ability, character and other stats will be discussed if any name on a list is highlighted. So i think with our squad we need to bring in some characters and we need some younger players who have room to grow. Either way all must have desire to be and play at the highest level. Where they come from or whare they have played is irrelevant. If the recruiting dept is good they will do the right thing. You have to put complete faith in them as an owner and manager, so far they have got a lot right.

Defenders shouldn't make many mistakes in my opinion. Anyone got stats related to errors that have lead to goals? I'd love to be proven wrong. Kitching cost us atleast 6 goals this year and missed roughly 8 through suspension. I don't want my centre half with those numbers. I want a consistent steady head, like Fadz.
But its partly down to the way Robins is making them play. It's almost inevitable... I'm sure they'll improve in doing it but it takes time.
Don't even like some of the arsing about personally but it's fully coming from the manager.

FBRef has errors leading to opponent's shots... our players rank pretty poorly.

Kitching 40th percentile, Thomas 20th, Dasilva 12th (lower is worse)

What does 40th percentile mean?
where they rank basically.

So Kitching, 40% of centre backs in the championship have made more errors than him, 60% have made less.

And for Dasilva, 88% of full backs in the championship have made less errors than him...

Wow! Thanks! Thomas and DaSilva both had shockers then really?
I think a lot of it is decision making... e.g. Dasilva vs Preston for their second goal, taking an extra touch on the edge of his own 6 yard box. You can tell he is used to playing wing back, further up and not having that level of defensive responsibility.

I have confidence in Thomas, he does the right things. Just needs to learn when not to play it short and just play safe.

Did you not see how many mistakes lead to goals last year? How many clean sheets did we keep? Perhaps it's just down to 4 at the back instead of 5, but I find it difficult watching these two.

Did McNally play in a 4-2-3-1 and be expected to play out from the back for us? No. Burnley did not want to sell to us for a reasonable price, apparently they wanted a lot more than £4m.

My mate who’s a Stoke supporter didn’t rate him highly. He’s obviously not become a bad player and he was a good fit for our team in 2022/23. His role would be different in our team this year and I’m not sure it would have necessarily suited him. McNally was the least confident on the ball out of McFadz, Doyle and McNally.

Having a look around online and have come across a left back in Sweden called Samuel Dahl. Looks half decent and 21 years old. Maybe a little on the short side though.

Fans after Kastaneer and Dacosta: No more players from Europe!

Fans after Waghorn: No more experienced pros

Fans after Kitching and Collins: No more L1 players

Wonder who is next? 🧐
An older foreign player, currently at a league 1 club obviously!

You don't think so? I love watching centre halves, McNally one of my favourites - these 2 I'm struggling to enjoy watching.
Yeah tbf McNally was better for us than Thomas has been so far. But sounds like McNally has been pretty shit for Stoke and think Thomas probably has a higher ceiling

Thomas was a great signing, not worried about him at all. DaSilva was arguably the worse signing Robins has made recently.

McNally was awful when it mattered in the Play Off final. Thomas conversely has been immense in the big games, but has been inconsistent and put some woeful performances in against the shit teams. Definitely have Thomas over McNally. McNally v Latabadieure though is more interesting.

Dahl is A big talent. Read a couple days ago that Djurgardens expect a big fee for him, in the €5m+ euro range.

Keeping it in Scandinavia, Logi Tomasson is a cheaper option. Iceland international but he’s only really played as a wing back rather than in a 4 so could be a risk.

Dont really like small players generally at the back.

Max Lowe been released from Sheffield United. Bit injury prone but someone who can player 20-25 games at a high level in the championship. A Lowe Burrows or Lowe McCallum LB core sounds quite nice on paper.

27 and never managed 30 games in a season, in fact normally struggles to make 20 appearances. I like to think the days of us having to gamble on players like that have gone?

Yeah, I’d also like to see how McNally played without Fadz organising at the back. Thomas for me all day, raw but come along massively

Would anyone take Manuel Bensen or Ennes Zaroury from Burnley?
I know they haven’t played much this season but on their day were top class in this league
They'll probably feature a fair bit now they've been relegated
