How about bringing Fadz back as defensive coach as we have been shipping goals since he left.

Sentimentality or just a possible cheaper option ?
Although I would love to see the training ground packed with our old favourites, we are at a stage where a new face , experienced in coaching is needed to get our club to the promised land .
Wether Doug will pay for such a person , who knows ?

Through the league initiative, we obtained Lawrence & it proved a great appointment & he was very well respected behind the scenes , but if you don’t pay pro rata money , then the inevitable happens .
Aled is not a top level goalkeeping coach & again , you pay peanuts you get monkeys

We need the best and most proven defensive coach we can attract. We are not a charity providing a retirement plan for ex players.

You would think Viveash would know plenty about defensive coaching - ex CB and all that!

The fact there are two spelling mistakes in the first two paragraphs of this job posting is driving me absolutely mental.

We do need a new goalkeeping coach.

Our outfield players generally improve while they are at the club but 3 goalkeepers in a row now have regressed from when they first broke into the team.

Any rumours about who will come into the backroom staff, I'd imagine the club will want someone in before end the of June, at the very latest.

I think this is a really crucial appointment. I would be a little bit concerned if it ends up being someone similar Adi or someone else in Robins' network. To take a step forward, I think Robins could do with a very progressive modern coach and it would balance things out nicely and help us step up again. I wonder who is running this recruitment and how they will agree on who gets the job, I would think Doug will want this person to kick us on another level.

The tricky part for me is that Robins has always been a pretty great pragmatist - working within the confines of the resources and adapting the setup / style to the players. Modern coaches and I believe many modern success stories with teams getting promoted on a low budget tend to have a strong / defined coaching style. Can we get the best of both worlds? Hope so!

I imagine that they held interviews last week and have made a decision as Robins and Adi and now away according to Saddle. I'm sure i saw the deadline for applicants was 23-05-24 so interviews last week wouldve made sense
