Another AT wonder find............. how anyone could ever have backed AT post Oct 2011 especially seeing how we are now makes me wonder somtimes

He was a good player in his day. We took a gamble on him due to his age, and given his reported fitness regime, not a bad gamble. It didn't pay off. That sometimes happens when you take a gamble. We just have to get on with it. I reckon he has plenty to offer as a coach.
To the OP, no he's not still captain. Robins said a few weeks ago it was between Baker and Wood. It looks like Baker has grabbed it.

Robins had a pop at kilbane a while ago when he played him at left back.
It was something along the lines of bringing in an 'experienced steady head to influence others, which didn't work.'
I have heard more of Kilbane on the radio since !

There is a suggestion this is one of the "issues" that Fisher and Waggott had with Thorn. They were not keen on the signing but he convinced them he needed a left back. When he played him in central midfield in wasn't well received.

Sorry, when did anyone say he was a good coach? Surely you have to have been doing some coaching first to be judged? As far as I know he came here initially to play with a view to coaching whilst taking his badges this season.

You don't know that he scouted any of those, not all players are scouted and scouts often only run the rule over them rather than proactively spot them. Westwood was already known, hardly plucked from absolute obscurity.

If all his decent signings and scouted players were still with us we would be at least near the top of the Championship. Not all signings ever work out, however big the club or player. How is Torres doing ATM?
AT has gone. Shaw has gone. Will the AT bashing ever stop? Things are now looking up. It is not as though there are no decent things to discuss. Whatever has gone on in the past I am fully behind MR. Or do some of us just want to go on about the bad things only and not the good what is happening as they predicted a bad season for us even up to a couple of weeks ago?

They do say that form is temporary but class is for life. Zinadine Kilbane has shown class throughout his career. He may be over the hill now and I think the pressure of captain got to him but he is still capable of wonder moments such as the goal against the Blues.

Westwood was the League One goalkeeper of the Season the year we signed him. He cost circa £700,000. It is very far fatched to suggest that he was scouted by anyone.

The problem with all the AT lovers is that you backed him way past the any zone of normality to the extent that you were adamant he was our mate and good scout and ' we cant change a manger yet again'.
I gave AT time as I have with MR at the start but it was obvious he was out of his depth and was found out, we were an embarrasment. ( we had to rely on Pompey 10 points deduction) to have a ray of light
There was a bit of back peddling but on the whole the AT gang supported him through to the eneviatble end. The stick in the mud was the 'AT lovers' ridiculed anyone who slated him sighting issues such as SISU
Well guess what , we still have SISU and there is 'no new money' and we did change the manager and we are actually winning and even better, we feel good about going through the sports section of a sunday paper for now.
So any notion that I can make any sense of anything you say based on you still defending the indefendable defers me to the latter in that you and a few others still believe good old AT is a great manager
Where would we be now if he had of gone last october............ hmmmm he is happy though is got a few quid out of it.
