Is it 7 we have now? Yet can obly use 5 in a matchday squad? That is a waste imo, but I huess we've had to increase the numbers to make up for the ones that havent worked out.

Brown is Brown. He wouldnt be missed if we could just end the deal (hope that doesnt start the 'hes on a seaon long long blah blah blah comments).
Henderson hasnt really had time to show much potential, but dont think hes quite cut out for our first team at the moment.
Reckord is obviously out of favour and is unlikely to feature now we've recruited Adams.

A lot of them expire in January. I think we'll be looking at a very different squad come February 1st.

So Ball and Brown are season-long loans.

Adams is 1-month I think, while Reckord, Henderson, Bailey and Goldie expire in January - is that right?

I've been pleased that even though he's brought a fair few in he's not affraid to rest/drop them .

It could be percieved as wasteful and I hope we still get to see some of our own product nurtured .

It means we have a very large squad that some obviously can't be accommodated ,that will need to be addressed as we simply can't sustain financially at this level.

I'm really pleased that he is willing to assess and re-introduce some of the players that were brought in in the summer and hastilly written off,so i'm hopeful one or two more may work their way back in ,as we can't be that wasteful with resources.

Brown won't stay if he doesn't play. He will not develop. So he will go somewhere else.

May mean we won't get any man utd loanees for a while though.

I'm not worried in the sense that they don't care because there loans, as I think the effort from the loanees in general has been okay. I am worried that if we get decent loans in they tend to be very short term and to get out of any league requires a good squad over the whole season, not half of it or a couple of months. It seems it takes a few failures in the loan market to unearth something good and I'm not sure we can afford this hit and miss approach. Unfortunately we appear not to be able to afford much else though. As long as the loans we get in the main improve us, its a necessary evil.

I'm not concerned in terms of effort, they should want to come here, prove a point and do well at their parent clubs, I mean, when the players go back, can we replace them? That's my concern.

Well, so far we have had more average and poor loans than good loans so replacing the good stuff is not going to be easy. Like I said I don't think you can get out of any league with this hit and miss approach but its the only approach we can afford so we have to try and make the best of it.

A "very different squad" smacks to me of numerous previously unknown players with very little allegiance to CCFC suddenly wearing the famous Sky Blue shirt pledging loyalty and honour to the cause.

Will we ever see again the multi-hundred appearances of players in previous squads that fans could associate with and form an invisible bond over many years.

it just doesn't seem right to me somehow to continually change squads en mass employing journymen and loanees - where is the continuity ???

Bring in the right players and we'll get that continuity.

I don't see why it means we won't get any loanees from them but that is hardly a threat. Except for Norwood and Warnock most loanees from so called big clubs have been pretty average.

I would imagine Fergie sent him here expecting him to play, like Norwood did. I recall some comments about how pleased he was at our treatment of Norwood. So he would be happy to send players in the future.

I think Brown needs to go back, he is a luxury we don't need. I think if he does in Jan having hardly played Fergie may think twice about using us. However I agree so but it...

Most players we have had from these clubs since relegation have served little purpose anyway so even if that is the case it is no great loss frankly. Norwood was the exception to Eddie Johnsons rule.

Yes Henderson was good, Norwood, I personally liked nimely I know you didn't. Warnock. Gardner as short lived as it was. Jonny Jackson.
Then the rest were generally poor. It does seem a very hit and miss game.

I am not a big fan if Ball, Reckford. Can't say about Henderson yet.
