Well supposedly he’s worth whatever someone will pay for him - in this case, £31 million. I’m just repeating what others have said, I also think it’s a huge amount.

It doesn’t mean he’s worth that does it - we paid £1 million in the 80’s for the appropriately named Kevin Drinkall who was worth nothing

We’ve paid - on the same calculation as Maatsen - £5 million on a league 1 centre half

It is a huge amount and perhaps tad overpriced but still a nice slap in the face of all the fans who incorrectly doubted his talent

Id say it’s more a disturbing sign of the way football is going. I didn’t ever see anyone who is smug about Maatsen say he’s definitely worth 2 hamers or 1.75 of Gyokeres

Again, I’m just quoting what others have said:

You made a back to front comparison - he’s worth what someone will pay for him

Unfortunately with the Saudi money it's only to get worse and ruin the sport even further.
Not even sure how you stop it at this point but it's way beyond a joke now.

You won’t, at least not in this country. People dig at the Bundesliga for Bayern’s dominance but it’s an organic one compared to Man Oil winning the title season upon season and has very healthy crowd figures without clubs whoring out to the highest bidder.

Like I said I agree overpriced too.

But he plays in prem for Chelsea currently and had 31m bid for him. He's clearly a good player.

Ruining European football too where English clubs will likely dominate for the foreseeable.
You've got Nottingham Forest taking some of the top players from Champions League teams in other nations. Crazy.

Thing is if you speak to German football fans most would prefer to keep their clubs in the hands of fans even if it means less is spent and the clubs are less successful. In this country we applaud clubs who whore out to the highest bidder.

Interesting on that note that Forest got Awoniyi from Union Berlin last summer who are now in the CL.

Many on here were clapping like seals for Mike Ashley to take over the club last year

Danny Cashman to Worthing. Might have been posted elsewhere. One of those punts that didn’t work out. At the end of the day, it’s better to try and not succeed than just not bother.

I just watched Jamie Reckord be average for 90 minutes at Gloucester vs Buxton, I barely remember him for Cov but Christ he was innocuous at that level.

Conor Thomas (who is somehow still only 29!) scored for Crewe today. Jones with yet another assist for Notts C as they go top (another left-footed Beckham cross).
Wouldn’t surprise me if Jones is playing in The Championship within the next 2 years. Still only 25. After his horrendous injuries he needed to play, and have a season or two with regular football. He’s now getting that. Was absolutely gutted when he broke down with the 2nd ACL after getting back into our team during our first season in L1.
