Ive asked this and why other sports like Ice Hockey that have done the same aren’t lambasted. It’s about Cov Rugby being here already seems the most cogent answer.

The ice hockey didn't move into the stadium which housed the football pitch!

Is rugby really that important to people that moving a team has the same impact as an MK Dons/Wimbledon situation? Yeah, Wasps moving into the Ricoh fucked us over and was worth getting angry about - I just never understood the outrage over moving a rugby team from one city to another.

Go back and read some of the posts from London based Wasps fans who were absolutely gutted.

If a rugby fan said it didn't matter about Cov playing in Birmingham or Northampton, or even moving to London, how would you feel?

Of course it matters to them, which is why it was never, ever right for them to franchise themselves here. That it caused issues for us and Cov RFC wasn't the only issue.

Displacing the football club (aided by the greedy fuckers at the council) and trying to sweep aside the real Coventry RFC - ironic now that they will actually be in the same league next season if they survive at all.
