Watched the first episode of the Dahmer series , I’m gonna give the second one a go

The final scene in episode 5 is quite possibly the darkest thing I’ve ever seen on tv. The series is uncomfortable viewing but the more I think on it the performances are outstanding.

I’ve watched a lot of Ted Lasso in the last few days. Trying to get it done within the free trial. It does occasionally lean towards cheesy Footballers Wives territory but overall it’s good, entertaining and harmless fun.

Love Ted Lasso, bit more Dream Team than Footballers Wives for me but an easy watch and nice to have something fun in a sea of programs about true crime.

Not a massive TV watcher, but that one with with David Tenant and Stanley Tucci, although completely unbelievable, is shaping up well, especially for the performance from Atkins Estimond.

Also enjoyed Karen Pirie last night on catchup.

Haven't times changed?

I remember legging it home on Monday night after an evening of gallivanting in the 80's to make sure I didn't miss The Prisoner re-run on channel 4 at 9.00PM.

No such worries these days.
Well, just finished Inside Man.

What. A. Load. Of . Bollocks.

Stanley Tucci and Atkins Estimond were excellent (give them their own show).

Everything else was very disappointing.

Strictly come dancing has become a firm favourite in our house, and enjoying the latest series of Taskmaster.

The Walk In, Stephen Graham. Really good so far.

I liked it but some of the support acting is at soap opera level, which stands out more so when Stephen Grahame is in it. Said to the wife the story deserves a bigger budget. In fairness my view might be distorted by the expensive shows on Netflix and Sky Atlantic etc. which are at movie standard these days.

Is it supposed to be a true story or a drama? I assumed it was a drama and then Jo Cox appeared.

Some of these shows seem to be blurring the line between the two, not sure that's a good thing.

Mike Flanagan has a new horror series out on Netflix - the Midnight Club.
His previous 3 outings were superb so hoping this will follow in its footsteps.

Gave Only Murders a go following a few comments on here, but it’s not as good as expected. It’s an easy, chilled watch with moments which make you smile and a few laugh, but was hoping for more. Although I am going to go back to it and watch again and concentrate a bit more.

Fancied a good British comedy I hadn’t seen before and after a bit of research landed on Him & Her. It’s not Office/Partridge/Peep Show levels, buts it’s certainly got laughs, coupled with some clever/subtle humour and ultimately a nice character undertone too.

Yeah, don't expect too much of Only Murders. It's definitely not a laugh a minute, laugh out loud show.

I still really enjoyed it. Smiled through nearly all of it, laughed out loud on just few occasions, but it's got that feel and sheen of the great old murder mysteries of yesteryear.

I just found it warming and welcoming and the three leads are all great.

Best horror writer/director at the moment imo. Recommend Gerald's Game too if you've not seen it

Anyone else watching/seen Studio 666!

I am enjoying it. Some of the acting is a bit wooden, but for the most part they are all quite decent and it's quite good fun

Not going to pull up any trees, but it's a fun bit of hokum to warm up a dull evening or weekend.

Been excited to watch The Old Man and just binged the first three on Disney+ only to realise it’s released weekly. What?! Why is that still a thing.

Those who have watched it all - what streaming site / how did you do so? Sod waiting for weekly episodes!

Oh I don't know, I sometimes think that's a good thing. Sometimes I want to binge stuff and at other times, I am quite happy to wait for an episode a week.

And it is still a thing for sure. The LOR, House of the Dragon, Walking Dead, The Boys, Only Murders in the Building, The Old Man, all one episode per week .

I don't think it's a bad thing at all. Gives us all time to breathe sometimes.

Yeah it’s just a nice show. Got to say I wasn’t happy with the first season resolution. Just started the second so we’ll see where it goes this time.

Just finished 'The Walk-In'

Impressed by the fact that it starts with 'This is a true story' not a get out of a jail free type 'Based on real events' type bollocks.

They've nailed their colours to the mast and are almost inviting people to disagree. They won't/can't.

Not the greatest piece of drams I've ever seen, but I have to salute the 'This is a true story' intro.

Steven Graham is as ever, box office.

Is it art?

I've seen less professionally produced video arrangements at the Venice Biennial.

It's excruciating, but strangely compulsive.

Under the Banner of Heaven is a good watch on Disney+

Andrew Garfield is a detective investigating a murder in mormon country USA in the 80s, won't give much away but watch one and it hooks you in.

What youve got to understand is that she took difficult decisions and is focused on growth and keeping peoples energy bills down.

Thoughts with anyone who got involved in a drinking game where they had to do a shot every time she said growth.
Hope the stomach pump went well a you find a liver doner
