Three lessons Thorn needs to learn from today (2 Viewers)

1) Subs - A problem many city managers have had is their inability to know when to make subs, this was evident again today. Ten minutes into the second half the game was stagnating and bury were for the first time getting hold of the ball with their sub elford looking pacy and good. This was the time for Thorn to make changes, freshen up the team by taking off the tiring kilbane and Elliott and giving Macca or ROD a run out so they can show Thorn why they should be starting. But no we wait until after the 2nd goal and take off Baker, who was having a decent game and cody who looked the fitter of the two strikers.

2) Kevin Kilbane - The Kilbane situation is almost a carbon copy of the Stephen Wright situation from the Coleman era. Wright was brought in to fill in at right back and be a squad player, the next season he was made captain and played out of position by Coleman at centre half subsequently being too slow and was released. Kilbane was brought in by Thorn to be an experienced squad player who could be cover at left back for Hussey, he was made captain by Thorn and is being played out of position on the left side of the diamond subsequently being to slow to track back or offer anything going forward. By making Kilbane captain Thorn is basically tying his own hands behind his back by now having to play him in every match like Wright.

3) Pace - we officially have the slowest squad in the division, not one quick player. This was highlighted by Bury today, who in bringing on Marshall and lenell john Lewis their pacy forwards they showed how pace can change a game and how without it we can get overrun all over the pitch. We can only pray that some pace is injected into this team before the close of the transfer window.

What Coventry fans need to learn is that the Clueless One needs to leave the building and leave it quickly. He will drag us to depths we never thought possible if we allow him to continue.

To be honest during pre season I defended Thorn on here, but after that capitulation today I am starting to agree with the likes of you and Otis

Ditto. I think patience is running out now. If there was a poll I reckon majority would think Thorn should go for about the first time.

Maybe I was blinded by last years lack of investment. I'm not a fan of sacking managers and haven't agreed with a number of our sackings over the years but we need to try something different.

We are seeing the same mistakes as last year with different players so maybe it is not the players who are the problem.

for me it was the nuneaton game

i know, i know, "it was a pre season friendly"

but to see your team out battled, looks better and look fitter and it was a team in the conference, said all you need to know.

Id take Shaw, Carsley, Oggy, Jim The Gate Man, Sky Blue Sam, anyone..

to come out of the 1st 3 games with 3 points isnt acceptable in my opinion

Who employs this dickhead? With fit and proper owners this clown wouldn't be here and we wouldn't be in this shitty league.
