31 points from 18 games would've had us 6th at this point last year with a gap of 3 points to 2nd place Bournemouth (34) and 6 points to Norwich (37). Top 2 this year are a long way ahead of that pace at the moment. Starting to look a foregone conclusion for top 2 places.

Agree, but would really be ecstatic with a playoff place. We need at least 7 points in the next 5 games to be in the mix.

Given it’s his first management job Rooney is doing very well at Derby

Is he really though? Weren’t they in the play-off mix for the last few years before he came in? Where’d they finish last season? Fuck knows why they even hired him as manager when he’s had no managerIal experience before

The club were spiralling down sharply. With no points deduction he’d be having a good first job in management definitely

they were 21st last season

He's taken a team of kids and pensioners and got them playing at a mid-table level even though they're worried about getting paid on time.

He's doing better than expected.

It wasn’t under Rooney though. It was Cocu for the majority of the season and the shit had already hit the fan. The last throw of the dice was Lampard and the play offs. Once that went it was inevitable.

It can be true that Rooney is both doing better than expected at Derby, and that he was a baffling appointment for them - there’s no way he was the right man for such a basket case of a job.

Great goal by Lawrence 2-2

I think he’s done well this year. To get the amount of results they have with Jagielka and Davies as a two at the back is a good effort

Derby up to 0 points. Think they may catch one or two. Staying up would be manager of the year stuff (unless we go up, then they can share it!0

Rooney is doing a great job there given the circumstances. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a more stable club come in for him soon.
