Because we rolled the dice that letting them have the ball and trying to break us down would win it for us. It obviously didn't but I still stand by if we scored our third pen we're European champions right now. If that paid off he'd have a knighthood and a statue on the way.

Southgate didn't know how to change the game , he made the wrong subs , just like against Croatia in 2018 .

It's frustrating , but it is what it is , I'm already content that we will do nothing in qatar

What does nothing look like to you?

Depending on the groups i can't see us getting lucky 3 times in a row with the draw , and with some countries improving over the last couple years like Spain slowly getting better , Argentina winning the copa America and France arguably having a dodgy tournament last time round .. I'm not expecting much more than a last 8 finish

We had our chance

He got us to a final, spring of 2018 if you'd have said we'd have been to a semi and a final in that time I'd have called you mad.

He SHOULD have got us to the final with that draw 100% , the stars aligned after our last group game

It's been done to death and I think we're not going to agree so will leave it after this but you can only beat what's in front of you and he's succeeded where everybody else in my lifetime has failed. He needs to get smarter at changing games and take us that extra step to actually win something 100%.

I still don't care about a 1-1 in qualifying provided that we qualify.

Jogi Lowe didn't exactly have a brilliant club career and he did alright. A lot of countries actually do well bringing managers through their youth setups as it's different from club football.

I suspect that the man who is happy to eat his own navel fluff on camera didn't get the post for the same reasons Mr Marks and Spencer got his

Yea , we pretty much always qualify though .. I'm not worried about that aspect ever really.

Anyway he's a nice bloke , but I'd rather he turned down the contract

Was a crap performance today but we were still a bit unlucky. If we had a striker today may have won. Kane was completely absent. Foden & Grealish look so creative but never seems to come to anything. Kane is great, but not sure he suits the team we have. Need someone consistently in the box.

I appreciate we’ve got some young talented players but some just think that you just chuck them in and let them play. They have limited training/practice time…currently meet ups are as regular as it’s been for a long time due to covid. Our top striker is bang out of form, regular recent goalscorer (Sterling) not playing regularly for his club, stones hasnt played a minute for Man City this season and our player of the year (Philips) is out injured. Hungary played well…like they did in 2-3 Euro matches.

England weren’t good last night but international management isn’t as easy as some are making out. Just look at what Erickson and Capello managed with a fair few established world class players.

I hope Southgate keeps trying one sitter though. On last nights performance I wonder if Bellingham rather than Mount alongside Foden might be a better fit for that formation

Rice looked lost without his mucker in midfield I thought we got over ran in there.
Should have put Henderson on with Rice and kept Grealish on and took Foden or mount off imo.
Fair play to Hungary though they came to play!!

I still maintain there will be a leftfield winner of this tournament, not a rank outsider but someone unfancied

To be fair to Erikson , during his time Brazil and France both had some of the best international sides in their respective histories , and several other international sides were just flat out very good .

Capello was not great at all

Think it's fair to say that if they qualify they will be rank outsiders, I base it on a team adapting to conditions, Scotland not renown for it hot temperatures!
I was ofcourse taking the piss , I see what you're saying but as its winter I expect a top 5/10 nation to win it

The Molineux has been announced for the two June games. Shame we can't be at both but pleased we're getting to watch a game in the West Midlands. The more away from Wembley the better!
