Apparently players had a meeting with SISU rep yesturday as they are refusing to pay the players any of their bonuses this season dispite the players previously all agreeing to cut their basics.

If this is true it's the last thing we need when we're still trying to tie down contracts of 2 trialists. Jennings sounds quality, if this fucks it up i won't be happy.

Where did you hear this from? If that's true we are in big doo doo!

They don't deserve any bonuses. they got the team relegated.
Lets all be shit at our jobs and still expect a bonus. just doesn't happen in the real world

And hardy any of those players are left. This is for THIS season.

So SISU are effectively going to be breaching their contracts. All these players could ask to leave, new ones not sign.

It's clearly rubbish. The opening thread implies players have agreed wage cuts already, what all of them? And they were not leaked to the press? Really?

Er, what bonuses have they earned for this season? It hasn't even started yet.

Really fucked if paying out bonuses for beating Accrington Stanley and Port Vale in pre-season friendlies.

Hardly sensible is it really ? Will it really motivate The likes of Connor /Clark/Cameron etc to sign extentions?

I'm guessing it means from games and the campaign to come. Eg promotion bonus etc.

If the players secure promotion this season they deserve a bonus IMO! The increased revenue streams from championship football and the smile it would put on the fans faces more than qualifies for some extra cash!

Wouldn't the basic wage reduction and bonus's , etc be written into their contracts? If this is true it will hit the news by Monday as the PFA will get involved.

The 8 new players wouldn't have signed a contract then immediately agreed to reduce their pay. The players who were already here might have had a relegation wage drop in their contracts. In which case they should have tried harder.

As for seasons bonuses, maybe they've just been told there won't be one, rather than there is one but they won't be paid it.

Could be to comply with financial fair play.

Yes and the op says they have already had their wages reduced....

Think it's more of the case they want players to accept drastically reduced bonuses which they will refuse as they accepted a reduction in basics previously.

Expect something from the club sayin players are refusing to accept cuts in bonuses.

I don't believe any player would agree a cut in basics - certainly all wouldn't and it would have made the news.

Aren't bonuses earnt? They've had them the last few seasons (I guess) and its obviously never been an incentive for players then so what difference should this make? Players need to get into the real world! As if they don't earn enough as it is just in wages.

This wouldn't surprise me at all.

Coventry City rule of thumb: If things are starting to look rosy there's always something shit waiting just around the corner.

Where have you heard this? Is it a reliable source close to the club?[/QUOTE

a player directly

If it really was a player what do you think was his motive and is it only 4 players who are affected (namely the 4 that agreed the wage reduction). What has happened to those that didn't agree the reduction.

I difn't mean that to come across as anti sisu. Ppl might remeber my pro season anti ranson posts in the past.

The reason for the bias was the player was anti sisu! He said to expect a statement from the club his week giving a one sided view of the position.

You get the impression the player concerned was trying to get sympathy - not exactly gone to plan I would suggest.

Its not rocket science for Sisu and the minority of players affected to come up with the solution of deffering bonus payments to the end of the season based on promotion or not !!!
