Man Utd Managerial Successes (1 Viewer)

A difficult thread title to get right!

But... players who played under Ferguson at Man Utd haven't exactly gone on to a stellar managerial career.

Keane - too demanding, moody, scary.
Robson - too lax and lacking in order.
Neville - too hopeless and inept.
Giggs - too angry, abusive, and misogynistic
Darren Ferguson - mixed, but generally alright at Peterborough
Ince - not really.
Hughes - yeah, alright I guess... until a catastrophic spell at Stoke, anyway.

Robins must be up there as one of the few who's done anything, really? Any I've missed?

Hughes got sacked twice in one season, that takes some doing 🤔

Was saying this to my man u mate. Should he get us promoted he'll surely be put in the Eddie Howe category (despite it being a far far more impressive achievement). Can't help thinking Robins would be considered for the United job should he be in the EPL with us. I'd back him to do a solid job of it too

Why wouldn't he be? They gave it to ole who doesn't have close to the CV Robins would have IF he turned us into a Premier League club from league two. We're talking 4 or 5 years down the line but he keeps producing and thats all that counts

He was the caretaker for a bit and overseen some great results, PSG and Man City away come to mind.

Robins is a good manager at this level and possibly higher but I can’t envisage him ever being considered for arguably the biggest job in the world

Not a chance in hell.

Firstly that's a BIG if. He gets us to premier league.

Even then IF he did. And kept us up for 3/4 years.

Still ZERO chance.

His knowledge of European football would still be zero and he still wouldn't be a household name. That can lure the best players in the world.

Like I said agree with the first bit of your original messege. But your in cloud cuckoo land if you think that. And it's silly to be even having this conversation.

I mean wether or not Robins could do a job at united is neither here nor there , he probably could do a half decent job

But he'd never be selected or thought of

Why would United even consider him? His united inks are over hyped as well, yes he famously scored the goal that is said to have saved Ferguson but he left almost 30 years ago and his best years were at other clubs
