"I'm not overly enamoured with our signings so far"

"Why do you hate Mark Robins and feel sick at the sight of Sky Blue? Why do you want us to be relegated and take joy at every defeat? Are you ready for your big relegation wank?"

That's what it sounds like on here today

I don’t know what you’re talking about mate, we’ve never made a single bad signing under Robins so it’s pretty inconceivable anyone we bring in could possibly be in anyway uninspiring!

But it isn't logical to write off a player you have never seen play, right now Moore could either be the second coming of oggy or the second coming of burge we just don't know as none of us have seen him play which is my point

We've all seen bright, sheaf and gyo play so have informed opinions on them and I think most of us would have seen waghorn at some point so can have an opinion on his ability but literally none of us have seen Moore play so I don't understand why we can't give him and the recruitment staff the benefit of the doubt until we know one way or another

if he is shit then I'll be at the front of the queue questioning robins' choice on signing him but personally I can't form an opinion on him until I've seen him play some competative games

No one has actually physically written him off though? They've simply questioned whether he'll be a significant upgrade, which with Moore's background and the aforementioned reasons I as well as others have previously mentioned, is fair.

You've already formed opinions on Moore though. You've previously claimed he's a mid-table Championship keeper and that he'd be a quality signing. It's not really all that unfair for posters to question how you've come to that conclusion. Equally, you can't degrade posters for forming an opinion on a player whilst forming one yourself. As all that infers is you throw your toys out the pram if anyone has an alternative opinion to yourself.

I do agree that we can't make a definitive assessment on him until we see him in action - a point I've repeated several times - but in the same breath questioning whether he's an upgrade on what we had previously isn't illogical, neither is it writing the signing off. As I said, most posters who share the same opinion as myself on Moore have simply questioned others who have claimed he's definitely going to be an upgrade on what we've had previously.

Leif Davis from leeds could be a shout for left back, he was meant to go to bournmouth on loan but that seems to have gone quiet. Can’t imagine hed get in over Lloyd Kelly at Bournemouth so maybe offering him a full season as first choice left back could swing it for us.

I don't remember it being this bad until recently, maybe I'm getting over sensitive as I age but it feels like the arguments just spread across every thread and you're not allowed a difference of opinion.

I don't think you are being sensitive, the same few posters are ruining every thread with constant bickering. It's tedious as fuck.

Apparently Kelly is being moved to CB. Probably explains why they're after Leif.

Signing another first team keeper after already signing Moore sounds dumb, but hey, we signed Lee Camp for no reason last year, why not?

I am increasingly worried that Wilson might start the season as first choice

Hopefully Moore is just ring rusty due to lack of game time, it’s a real concern if Wilson becomes first choice.

Well, if Mark Robins is content with elementary mistakes leading to a goal conceded every half dozen games then yes, he knows better.

You're right... He should sign a world class keeper.

Moore during his time at Sheff Utd:

Played almost every game during their League 1 promotion season, like Marko for us, and got in the Team of the Year.

Started the Championship season injured but played most of the second half of the season, conceding just over a goal a game and average 1.3 points per game which would be roughly mid-table (2 less games than Marko played for us last season who conceded nearly 2 goals a game)

Didn’t play any games in the Championship promotion season but they signed a keeper who is now playing regularly for Man Utd...

I don’t understand why so many people are already writing him off. At the very worst he should be no worse than Marosi but you’d like to think with the extra year on top training at Prem level, plus having a point to prove, he’d be better

I mean we signed him on loan because Marosi was out for 2 months

We signed him to sit on the bench, which either of our academy keepers could have done. Camp was available at the drop of a hat if we did lose another keeper. Even if it was a mostly pay-to-play deal, I maintain it was a dumb use of resources.

I know it’s the Telegraph, but they’ve consistently mentioned CB/LWBx2/CM as what we’re looking at. I don’t think we’re after another keeper.
I'd assume Reid hasn't progressed yet as hoped, if we're looking for two? I actually don't think we need anymore central midfielders, if we expect Eccles & co. to step up. Bapaga must surely expect a bit more than a five minute cameo across the season, too?

I would be amazed if Moore does not start the season as number 1 and I'll be very surprised if he's not better than Marosi.

Yes he'll be a little match rusty to start with, but even though he's not been playing he's spent the last two years training with Premier League level coaches and players, and there's no shame in being number 2 to England keepers.
