Hasn't held back a number for cazarine then. 9,10 and 11 all taken

Why would he? If we sign Carazine, I doubt he'll be our #1 striker anyway, and after Juke left, it was likely Cody would be #9... 10 looked like Fleck's as soon as he signed and #11, an unsigned trialist weren't going to take McSheffrey's jersey off him was he??

You're thinking too much into it.

I hope #16 is saved for Jennings... Looking unlikely at the minute though...

Is it too presumptuous to assume that the pre season issue of squad numbers 1 through to 11 reflects AT's choice as to the starting line up for the first match which means only two of the new signings (6 Kevin Malaga and 10 John Fleck) make the first eleven ??.

Edge picked 25 because that was his age, he was saying on twitter he had #21 when he was 21, #23 at the Greek club... when he was 23 so 25 when he is 25...

Don't like the fact wood is 24. Unless he wanted that number then I think he is off

Wood is probably well down the pecking order. Thorn doesn't rate him.

As people have said, they don't really mean anything these days. I guess the only real changes are that Clarke, Cameron and Thomas have got significant 'upgrades'.

I don't think you can ride too much into it.

The in form, uninjured & effective players have to play regardless of squad number.

Just checked and Wood has always been number 24 since we signed him.

Wood chose 24 and as someone has quite rightly pointed out, the edge choose 25.
I can't see Cameron starting, but as we are unlikely to sign any more centre backs, might as well give the fella number 5.
Fleck asked for 10 day he signed and I'm glad we have given Cody number 9. Strikers need confidence and if a manager offers you the prestigious number 9 shirt. That must help.

Think that was a typo and he meant 'if a manager offers you the prestigious number 9 shirt that must help' rather than 'if a manager offers youths prestigious number 9 shirt. That must help'.

Squad numbers mean very little. Fat Ronaldo mustve been gutted a few years back to get number 99

99 was Sky Blue Sam and whilst he might be a bit portly to compare him with Ronaldo is a step too far.
