I personally think home form will be key this season...but can the ricoh ever be a fortress with it being a soulless bowl that nobody feels attached to..highfield road always had an intimidating feel to it.nice and close to pitch ,small pitch.
Really hope we can get our home form spot on.think we need 10 wins on the road aswell.i think we have 10 away wins in 5/6 years.

The Ricoh only feels soul-less because we never fill it. Get 25,000 in there consistently and opinion will change, the acoustics are very good.

If we have a good season we should get good crowds at home and away. The home games can make SISU a profit. They would then see if we got promotion a winning team puts bums on seats, so could invest wisely.

Would everyone be happy for us to be successful, making SISU lots of money and meaning they won't sell a profiable team?

I wouldn't say it's a soulless bowl.
The last 2 seasons the atmosphere around blocks 15, 16 and 17 have been fantastic throughout.
I know the sound doesn't carry to the telegraph stand but at least we give it a go.

The atomosphere was every bit as shit at Highfield rd as what it is at the Ricoh. Don't get this 'Highfield rd was a tough place to go, great atmosphere" because it wasn't.

For the last few years yes I'd have to agree with you on this - wasn't always like that tho - HR used to have pretty good atmosphere most of the time - think the problem is the Ricoh has ALWAYS been shite - Fortress Ricoh.... er no sadly

Got a feeling we will actually go unbeaten at home but again shit away

Time, date and poster duly noted.

You just know someone is going to dig this up with that first home defeat don't you! :D

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if we lost our very first home game to be honest. This is CCFC after all.

Yes but this has co incideded with our awful form, if we were playing well we would be saying it differrently. Good atmospheres in games such as Chelsea when it was full.

I actually thought the atmosphere was a bit flat for that game in comparison to some others there with much less crowds.

Lots of daytrippers and "ooh, look at Lampards legs, aren't they lovely close up?"

The women were even worse.

Take it you never went to HR for long or you sat in the wrong place. Parts of it were like most of the Ricoh. A part of the Ricoh was like 1 end of HR. My older lads prefered to go to HR than watching their own teams as the atmosphere and laugh was better.

You sit with the quiet fans you end up becoming quiet. You go where the noise and good laugh is you get louder.

This is why I prefer away days. The majority of away fans go to back their team and have a good time. Our ground is too big for us at the moment. Everyone's spread out too much.

Its simple really win lots of games, the fans base grows more people come to games, atmosphere improves, get near the play off or promotion the place will be rocking.

No, you're thinking of Lost.

I try not too, still fucking fuming about the last episode.

6 or so years of my life wasted for "oh, they were dead all the time but just working through their issues"

Bastards, complete and utter bastards.

I have to agree. I think the Ricoh WILL be a fortress in League 1. The away form will be questionable. 8 away wins could be enough.

8 away wins might be enough if we won every home game with some draws. 22 home wins and 8 away wins is only 90 points. That was enough for the playoffs last season. So even 1 home defeat would not be good enough

Yep, saw that too.

Only good thing about that was their Annie, who was a bit of a stunner!

Was a big fan ..... but he was awful in that. It was like he was on autopilot.

Was probably the one reason why I watched it in the first place cos he was in it, but he was dreadful.
