These big names seem worth a go,but the reality is they are at the tail end of their careers so no enthusiasm just a wage and winding down.

I think Chris Bart-Williams is a bigger name maybe we should sign him :D

If its big names your after try 'Vennegoor of Hesselink'.

Imagine the revenue generated from his name on the back of shirts - a method for paying the ricoh rent?

He didn't exactly set the A-League alight here last season...

He was much better in the second half of the season, once he actually got some fitness and form. I know many Victory fans who were disappointed that he has left, which speaks volumes.

Having said that, he would cost too much, and dealing with him contract wise is too much hassle.

He must be getting on a bit now! With him on one wing and kilbane on the other, I wonder if our sponsors citylink will provide a ring and ride service down the touchline

No thanks. Too old and not done anything for ages. Wouldn't cut it in League 1.

You do him a disservice I think. He's been relatively injury-free since he joined Galatasaray about 4 years ago. Had a good record in Turkey and then had a decent year in Australia.

If he wasn't demanding unrealistic wages (I'm not sure how lucrative the Australian league is) I'd be very happy for him to sign. Though knowing our luck his injury issues would be worse than ever.

Washed up, overpaid has been and we have been funding far too many of those for far too long. A big fat no from me.

Maybe i am? :thinking about: I just think there are better options out there. More robust and uncomplicated players in terms of fitness and wages. His ability, like Lee Trundle will never leave him, but his fitness will. Undoubtedly he would be a long term casualty should he sign for Coventry City! ;)

Too old and we already have McSheffrey and Fleck to play there. We have other positions which need attention.

He was on £60,000 a week at Liverpool. Unless his wife has been run over by a cow (if she's still in the soap) I can't see him needing the cash.

I'd be amazed if Kewell wasn't on one of those marquee contracts, they love him over there so for him to go back would have counted as quite a coup.
