As a 2012-13 Season Ticket holder we wanted you to be the first to know we have signed William Edjenguele on a three-year contract. Below is the official club statement that will be released shortly.

Club Statement

Coventry City have swooped to sign their second French defender in the space of a few days.

The Sky Blues have signed 25-year-old centre-back William Edjenguele on a three-year contract, following the arrival of Kevin Malaga last week.

The towering defender has been on trial with the club after his contract with Greek side Panetolikos expired and manager Andy Thorn has been impressed with what he has seen.

Thorn said: “William is a strong, physical presence. He has played at a good level in Greece and we're delighted to have him on board.

“We've had him in for a while now. He's been training with us, he did well at Hinckley and has generally impressed.

“We were aware of what he had to offer and, similar to Kevin Malaga, it was important we tied him down and we've done that which I'm very pleased about.”

Edjenguele has also previously played for Le Mans UC 72B and Swiss side Neuchetal Xamax.

If Keogh is the only player to leave and we bring in 2 strikers of the same standard as the signings we have already made, would this be classed as decent transfer window for the club??

We seem to be making very big strides, maybe just maybe we will turn this ship round this season!

A very excited cov fan currently glued to the net during his holiday!

In my book yes it would, with Jennings too.

There are still a few question marks, some unknowns sobe out of form players, but as a summer goes I feel positive for first time in a few years.

Get in!! I dont care what others think, IMO lessons have been learnt and we are at last trying to compete at least. Gutted if Keogh goes but not surprised, we are looking a decent side for Div 1 and i can not wait until we kick off in August, Promotion year.........Maybe, damm site more confident than last year for sure.

Hate SISU, but fair play if we can put a promotion winning side together, they have at least started on the Road to forgiveness and may even see that success brings support in, support brings money in and that is when we can become a profitable club..Just dont F**K it up!!

I am sure Thorn was quoted as saying there would be no more business until after Scotland??Is this lad in Scotland with them? There was talk of a twitter account saying he had returned to Paris?

Who's the wiki leaker ! Took 2 minutes !

At the start of the 2012/13 season, Edjenguélé joined Coventry City on trial and started in the 8-0 victory over Hinckley United. On 17th July 2012 the Sky Blues completed the acquisition by signing him on a 3 year deal

He did return to Paris, he also tweeted from the Airport this morning stating he had to pay extra as his luggage was too heavy.

Maybe at Ryton with the others getting match fitness , then joining the squad for the rest of the pre season, very good signing imo, don't think he will be first choice cb but at least we have some quality back ups now from last year having kids as back up

Still think we definately need 2 strikers and a CM which could be Jennings. I'd like for us to go for a striker who has previous experience in league 1 and then a target man? Perhaps Stuart Beavon who scored 20 goals lastyear and that was for Wycombe who got relegated?

Excellent news.

That's the last nail in Keogh's coffin I guess

I couldn't care less about Keogh anymore. This guy can play. Him and Malaga means we have 2 very decent footballing centre backs. Edge is very good at playing the ball to the player every time he defends. Good left foot.

That's the defence department sorted.

Let's get Jennings in and use Keogh money to buy 2 strikers.

I really liked the look of this guy against hinckley although not a good team im still glad we signed him he must have gone to paris to pack his bags :D. As others have said we need 2 strikers and hopefully Jennings. Stuart Beavon is a good shout lets wait and see PUSB

Is Jennings signing about to be announced as well?

Coventry City
On 17 July 2012, Jennings signed a 2 year deal with League 1 outfit Coventry after a successful trial with the Sky Blues. He joined Coventry along with French centre back William Edjenguele on the same day after the pair impressed manager Andy Thorn.

i know it's wiki but it seems as if Thorn says a player is on trial it means a contract is being sorted for the player.
