To counter the endless winging on here, some comparisons in div one:
Coventry have the 8th largest squad at 23,
The 2nd most expesive at £8.2m,
The 4th oldest ave age at 26!

Figures from transfermarket

I have had to sadly "un-like" your quote as the data when you dig into it lacks some accuracy. Clingan, Herman, Danny Ireland are still in the squad.

Wages currently now more like £6m. average age more like 22-23

Is it wages or supposed "market value". It gives a figure of £450,000 for Keogh and Cyrus Christie. Elliot has the biggest value at £700,000. Oh and Eastwood is still in the squad.

No is and I think it would be worth a look at squad strengths. I have tried to find an easy comparator website but have yet to find one.

Its not wages, its market value. Seems to be based on broad steps and doesn't allow for ammortizarion ie how close to the end of contract a player is. Nothing is perfect but its a broad comparison on equal terms with the rest of div one.

Want some more perspective? Leeds just sold one of their hottest talents to Huddersfield for 550k, we sold ours for double that.

Funny because the telegraph estimated that our wage bill had been reduced from £8.2m to around £5m when king et al left at the end of last season. There is no way our wage bill last season was anywhere near £8.2m. This figure is likely based on the 2009/10 accounts baring in mind that the 2010/11 accounts were only release just over a week ago.

And baring in mind that fisher stated that our wage bill for this season would be between £1.5m and £4m but closer to the latter.

It seems to be in 250k euro steps, what would you place him on?

:pimp:

Am thinking as to how we could fetch sutch an amount ,that maybe his value according to a formula ,but realistically he's as valuble as Mcpake ,Bell ,Baker Mcsheff +Wood:thinking about:

Its not the wage bill, its "market value"
It was a waggot quote that said the playing budget was closer to 4m than 1.5m
From that you can calculate between 2.75 & 4 million.....
I assume "playing budget" includes all players salaries, bonuses AND transfer fees!

Staff wages were £11.5m. prior to last summers exits ,therefore around £ 8M. by kick off, followed by six exits this summer to date+ Juke +Turner , balanced by six signings over the period conclusion wages currently £5.5M.-£6.5M. now.

There may have been a renegotiaton of players saleries ondropping to div one, they would all expect a rise if they got promotion!

If not, watch out for more cuts to come!

Also the 11.5m, if its from the accounts, may include managers and tea ladies?
