Just 3 days to Georgia elections. Democrats narrowly leading both polls. Republicans still think Trump is handing the election to Democrats by scaring off voters.

Have seen them throwing a lot more mud at the black candidate (Warnock) than the white one. Not surprised one bit but expect to be very close in both races with an edge to the Dems following a fall in support for Trump

Seeing the more detailed transcripts of the Trump conversation and his desperation I'm sure he is surrounded by a cadre of hardcore supporters who have convinced him that he won and was robbed. Ego is such that there is no way 81 million don't like him and would vote against him.
Police pick up someone rambling like he does on a Saturday night in town and they'd be sectioning him.

It's going to be so close. Looks like Democrats have taken one seat and the other is going to come down to a tiny margin.

Perdue and Loeffler are two of the most blatantly corrupt senators, it’s frightening for them to still get virtually half the vote even despite Trump’s efforts to sabotage it. At least one of them is going tonight though.

What do we reckon today?

Riot?
Trump loses it big time? More than already?

On the other side - peaceful protest and trump accepting the result

He is busy supporting Ted Cruz’s attempt to steal the election when Mike Pence oversees the session confirming Biden. Just contrast with Biden shutting down any Democrat who tried to obstruct Trump’s win in 2016.

Think most of the Republican politicians distant themselves from anything controversial and quickly try to repair image with an eye on 2022 senate elections.
Trump will just continue to scream fraud despite what is probably the most scrutinized voting procedure in US electoral history. (The senate runoffs)

Your posts on US politics are usually pretty pessimistic, but this is the first one that could literally fit into a Civil War infantryman diary, lovely stuff.

Now waiting for sensible Republicans to start the move to oust Trump. Needs to be cleansed in the same way after the Nixon scandal.

The 2022 senate slate looks promising for the Dems, there are 2 republicans in seats the dems should win in PA and WN. Florida will be tight especially as Rubio is standing down.

There will be a few Republicans who back any wild Trump actions even though they know he will lose as they have an eye on the White House.

Is Rubio standing down? I haven't seen that. I would imagine he'll want another run at the White House in 2024.

The Senate map is alright for the Dems in 2022, but it's very rare for the party in control of the White House to pick up Senate seats in the midterms (although Trump managed it, so who knows). The Senate map is pretty awful for the Dems in 2024, and the way things stand, the system is tilted heavily in Republicans' favour, which makes it even more crazy that the Dems will soon have control of everything.
