Been a defender of Baka over the last 2 years, and was glad when we kept him on for another year going into the Chanpionship. However, after watching yesterday, not anymore. He did work hard (for the first 25 mins anyway) and made a decent attempt at a header from a cross that was behind him, but he just doesn’t get involved enough.. He’s not a goal threat, not a target man, not a link man. For all of the grief Max was getting for his misses against Forest and Watford, I don’t think Baka would of even got those chances, as he just wouldn’t be in the right position.

Agree just not shown anywhere near enough during his time here but will always be remembered for the charlton double, thanks Baka but time to move on best for all involved.

Put in a nut shell, I would never knock him on here either but the basic threat of a centre forward is to score goals he doesn’t look like scoring and must be meat and drink for centre-halves to mark.

Walsall fans laughed when we signed him.
he tries but is not championchip quality or even league 1. Doesnt score, doesnt put himself in a strikers position and poses no threat to defenders.

thanks for your effort Baka but Max is far infront of Baka for me and free up some wages

A waste of £300,000, in the time he has been here you can count on one hand the decent games he has had.

He's dreadful. Looks like competition winner. Would be lucky to be a L2 regular.

Think it was 100k rising to 300k. Presumably had a chunk on promotion but assume goal and appearance bonuses missed. Would imagine somewhere in the middle.

He isn’t good enough and doesn’t look like he will progress. That said, he is fourth choice striker. How many clubs have a good fourth choice? I’m sure he will move on at the end of his contract (nobody is going to offer for him) but wouldn’t be surprised if he is not replaced or, at best, replaced by a striker for the development squad.

I've said it before we don't have any dreadful players ffs!

Baka played his part last 2 year's in our progression.

We can be so f,ing harsh on players at times it's unbelievable.

Thankless task his role yesterday.

Baka has improved no end in 2 years.

I'd back him to get the "20 goals" in league 1 in a couple of years.

Ill put my house on him never being a 20 goal striker in league 2 let alone league 1

Maybe not but I don’t get the disdain for him. It’s not his fault the manager gave him another contract if he’s as bad as you think - there is a player currently contracted to the club who can’t even be bothered to keep himself fit but is a hero to some because he barged a player over

I think if you could get Baka fired up he'd cause some defences some problems. He just doesn't have the fire in his belly anywhere near often enough. Max does at least work hard every game

Baka would be decent enough as backup in League1 but if we survive he should be moved on, if possible, along with Biamou...not sure Robin’s agrees with the posters on here would believe Godden should play backup to Biamou hahaha

Allen would also be off if we stay up, if Rose continues to struggle he might as well. We go down and we'll need all of them

Rose is a good player recovering from injuries. I am pretty confident he will make the step up.

Allen and Baka I am not so sure about, but hope they can prove me wrong.

Whether Baka is good enough or not he is currently our player and either 3rd or 4th choice. Robins felt he was the right guy to start yesterday and he did more than ok; worked hard first half and kept their back line occupied. He didn’t have many half chances but played his part in keeping us in the game. In an ideal world we would trade him for Kane or Mane but it isn’t and he will be ours until we get a decent price for him or can afford a replacement. As long he is part of Robins’ plans he gets my support.

I’m really disappointed re: Baka I thought at one time he might make it here, saw him at Barnsley season before last and he was excellent against two of the best central defenders in that division knocking them about and keeping them both busy and there were the two Charlton goals, but he just hasn’t kicked on and in my opinion never will.
Certain to move on maybe even January think if I was MR I’d start looking at what Bremang offers before Bakayoko.

I said on a different post that he's probably still here because he's cheap, and you won't find many championship standard players willing to be 3rd choice striker. He's clearly not a world beater, clearly not a goalscorer, and clearly not a gamechanger off the bench, but he does adequately in the few games he plays. We've had worse over the years.

He's clearly much better than when he joined. Miles better in fact. Whether you think he is good enough is a different question, but he has undeniably improved.

I thought he did OK yesterday, won his fair share of headers and he held the ball up well with some decent lay offs. Robins also thought he did well.

Clearly Godden and Walker are ahead of him, but a club like us couldn't afford to spend money on a 3rd/4th choice striker this summer so I'm not really sure what people expect from a 3rd/4th choice but I think he's fine.

Not talking Bakayoko but his possible replacement what type of player is David Bremang never seen him play.
But he’s just 20 so is e ready toreplace Bakayoko ?

No he’s not, been here for 3 years and never played a minute for us when all the other young players got minutes in the Checkatrade. Likely to be released

What most posters seem to ignore is that Mark Robins himself said he thought Baka had a good game yesterday,,,,,,guessing the majority of the posters here no better than the manager.......

I reckon he will still get some game time - I would like him to start in a front two with Walker if he does get a crack.
Obviously Walker & Godden are our only real championship quality strikers.

I think both him & Max both have equal but limited parts/cameos to play still this season they will still contribute for sure.

Robins has said Baka and Giles are the to fastest players in the squad, I think that's why he's kept him as long as he has, he just doesn't seem to show his pace when a balls played behind, but having said that , when teams try to play out from the back he is quick to get across and close down , I think robins sees that as much of a contribution to the game as holding the ball or getting shots in, and to give him some credit it is a unrecognised necessity .

People forget hes a winger not a striker. We bought him to convert into a CF

Decent point that.

If you watched Baka v Norwich in the first half he did chase their keeper and back line down quota a lot; he even blocked one of the keepers’ kicks IIRC.

Stopping a planned long ball play by hurrying the back line will be useful against Wycombe for example, it’ll stop accurate long balls.

Baka isn't incapable of having a good game, but what many also seem to conveniently ignore is that he only has one good game out of 6/7 - which at this level especially just isn't acceptable. One relatively good game doesn't excuse the fact he contributes little in the next block of fixtures if he features.

Regardless of that, I still very much doubt he'll be moved on in January. We quite clearly don't have the means to bring in a 'better' fourth choice striker and we'll need bodies going into the second half of the season. Also, given that it's looking increasingly likely that signings in the window are going to be somewhere in between of sparse to non-existant, he'll be needed to act as cover. So for now, he stays.

But if we are to survive this season I'll be shocked if he's still here after the summer, as I can see Robins wanting to part ways/go in a different direction.

Baka doesn’t look that fast to me when ever I’ve seen him play
