After lockdown, there is no way No 5 can be met - we are all bursting out of our already tight synthetic shirts.

I get your logic but I just cant see them letting in home fans of 91 clubs and not ours. There'd be outrage! (from us at least which would be totally justified).

There are very real downsides to not having your own stadium in your own city, like it or not. Not all of them are obvious, but this is likely to be one of them.

Think we all know that sitting outdoors and maintaining social distancing has been safe for months yet they've insisted it not go ahead.

To make the change now seems the worst possible time. We're coming out of a lockdown and need to ensure numbers don't go back up and we also have Christmas where we seem to be relying on people to use their common sense, a terrifying prospect at the best of times, to stop the numbers shooting back up.

How can you tell people you shouldn't go and see your family for Christmas but its now safe to go to the football? And it seems its not just outdoor events, according to Sky "The PDC will begin planning for fans to return to darts in the UK after confirming Alexandra Palace as the venue for the 2020-21 PDC World Darts Championship which starts on December 15".

Where have you seen confirmation of the rules in place at Xmas? Hancock has just told a select committee he doesn't know what they will be yet and there's a cobra meeting scheduled for this afternoon to discuss it.

No confirmation, but I very much doubt it would've been mentioned if it wasnt on the cards. We'll have to wait an see, but it would be a major own goal for it to be hinted at and then not happen.

With regards to the infection rate in Birmingham the ZOE data (for those familiar) which estimates the current cases based on people self-reporting symptoms / tests and then extrapolating an estimate shows that currently Coventry has a higher rate than Birmingham. This might not be be reflected in the ‘official data’ due to the nature of the way they report them. You can argue it isn’t accurate, but then again it avoids any data manipulation or ‘careful use of statistics (cough).

Also Birmingham was in tier 2 before, nobody knows what it will be in after lockdown ends, and there were suggestions at the weekend that they might use a regional approach (so West Midlands), but that seems to have gone quiet again so maybe the leaks to the press changed

No idea what that means for fans in grounds, but at present Birmingham doesn’t appear to be much worse (if at all) than Coventry. Depending where you get your data from. I guess it’s the ‘mass’ travelling they will want to avoid, but I’m pretty sure more than a couple of thousand people from Cov work in brum anyway so...

The vaccine is not the golden ticket. It has a long way to go to be proven effective, most likely years. In the short term those who want it should get it and those who don't be at liberty not to. We do not want a repeat of the thalidomide fracas from the early 60's.
For airlines to demand it I doubt is allowable under any law though perhaps a test certificate of some sort might fly (excuse the pun) to prove you are clear, which seems more reasonable.

Birmingham 352.2/100k (ZOE 905.7) Coventry 211.3/100k (ZOE 738.7)

The ZOE data is probably closer to reality but isn’t particularly useful on a daily comparison basis as it fluctuates quite a bit.

Yeah, realise it’s not the data they use. As an attempt to capture data missed by not testing everyone it has its uses. Current upper tier data for comparison:

The ZOE data is probably closer to reality but isn’t particularly useful on a daily comparison basis as it fluctuates quite a bit.

I didn't say they use the Zoe data and good as the Zoe data overstates cases massively as people feel ill and report the symptoms and thus it is counted as a case when it is likely to be a cold.

A mixture of pilar 1, 2 and 4 plus hospital admissions and icu capacity are the best measures
