I’m not one for spreading rumours and gossiping but I can 100% guarantee you that Mark will not leave Coventry City any time soon.

Before everyone gets their pitchforks out about this think logically.... why the fuck would he leave to join a club that is a complete basket case when he has what he has here

If we hadn't gone up fair enough to go to the legaue above but we will be at least be in the same league as them next season and their financial state is an absolute joke. Complete non story

We will go out of business in two tears if the ground issue isn’t resolved

We will be back at the Ricoh next season, and even if we are in Brum we aren't going out of business.... If it was going to happen it would have happened before this with the state the club was in

We are only allowed 3 years at a ground share

I don't think he'd leave for Birmingham. He'll want a crack at the championship with us first.

It'd be different if someone towards the top of the table came in for him - Fulham/Forest/Derby etc - though.

We were also told that we'd never be allowed to leave Coventry again after Northampton....

If push came to shove as long as we could prove we had somewhere to play that met requirements they'd grant an extension.

This time I don’t think so. It does mean the club is taking advantage of having zero assets and also in a higher division

It will quickly start to look like an embarrassment

Can’t see him going to Brum. He’s had opportunities already for bigger paydays and turned them down. He’s now built foundations for a model going forward and his employer trusts him and I imagine gives him far more freedom than Bham will give him. At least he understands our asylum whereas going to another unknown basket case I just can’t see him doing.

But the world is very different now especially when it comes to wasps and their finances. They could survive without the rightful team there with the revenue they got from gigs, conferences etc but that hasn't happened now so they will be as interested in doing a deal as we are

And I don't for a second think that in the unlikely event we run out of the 3 years in Brum that the EFL will just let us go out of business, that's just fear mongering

Of course they will. If the EFL were actually sticking to what they said when we moved to St Andrews to be allowed to play there next year we'd have to show we'd made progress with our new ground, how are they going to show that?

If we get to the end of the 3 years they will just extend it if required.

Whose two tears will they be? One from Joy and one from Tim?

P.S. If he was interested in going anywhere (which I don't think he is at the moment), I would expect him to wait for a more viable option than Blues.

This is the world of football and 100% is quite worrying and not nearly enough.

I don't think it's at all rubbish to think that Birmingham are interested in MR, which is what the story says, I'd be surprised if they weren't.

Just looked on the Blues forum, and even the majority of their fans are asking why would he go there when their owners sack people regularly, and he is 'unsackable at Coventry' (at the moment!)
I was about to say the same. 6 managers in 3 and a half years. Who would want to leave for that kind of job security?

Birmingham one of those clubs. Unattractive mid table mediocrity until they inevitably fall through the trap door to L1. Careless ownership.

Hold that flag, or change it to "sent to Birmingham". Can't see him going there myself

We will simply cut cloth accordingly if we are still at bcfc next season and beyond.

Can’t see a quick path back to cov and if brum want rid, West Brom likely be next to help us out. Promotion may keep some fans interested and maybe a few more out of the woodwork, but it’s a woeful state of affairs.

The FL won’t do owt either, as long as we can make sure we play the games somewhere.

Would like to think he has some loyalty to the club, but the reality is if they offer better pay and transfer budget then will could go.

I think there must be a little part of him that want's to prove he can be successful no matter how bad the off-field situation is. At a football level, he's creating a real feel-good factor at the club and has a well-committed team working with him.
Don't think he's going anywhere.

Birmingham have no pedigree of premier League and are the eternal championship club playing in the shaddow of Villa. Currently in all sorts of predicaments too.
Coventry regardless of their financial difficulties (which too many make of) are a far better option and prospect. I fully expect a deal at the Ricoh to emerge, and what's not to like for MR's in total control of his own destiny here with us, and a track record to take onwards and upwards if he can? He has the owners ear, backing and support. With what he and Viveash have established I fully believe in their ability to make us very competitive in the championship. We will finish well above Brum!

I think that's naive. I mean if you think about any o our jobs, we would not want it to be any harder then it can be. We'd also like a better pay packet. IF Birmingham can provide this then we could be in trouble.
